Yeah, can't disagree with that, perhaps more than a 3 goal lead would have been extremely harsh on us at any stage but you were well worth the 2 goal lead.

come on jovan u saved 3 times in the 1st half pal aswell as 3 that went past u only way u was gonna score was a penalty certainly not from open play

it isn't really a contradiction, he only stated that we have new players and the team is still going because we didnt fold

Birstall Rangers 2 v 4 FC Pochin

Obviously been looking forward to this and nice to take 6 points from my old team.

The 2 sides to Pochin turned up for the same game this week - 1st half we were awful, 2nd half pretty good!

Pre-match the Birstall skipper was overheard to say ''we've gotta keep an eye on Blackie today cos last time he ran the show''.

Birstall started brightly and were 2 up within half hour. A cross from Hatty drifted into the top corner and then an horrendous back pass from me let them in for the 2nd. At that point the Birstall captain was heard to say ''that's not like Blackie, he's normally quality. He won't make a mistake like that again, we've got lucky there''.

With the last kick of the 1st half Kyle Avossa scored with a quality strike and it seemed to knock the stuffing out of Birstall. 2nd half was pretty much one way traffic with the Jester On Stilts making some fine saves in the Birstall goal to keep the score to 4.

Great bunch of lads at Birstall and hopefully they will pick up enough points to avoid relegation but time appears to be running out for them - the manager has now left and they are looking to build again for next season.

As for us, its nice to be back up to 3rd in the table, albeit we've played 15 games more than anyone else.

As the supporters streamed away from Davenport Road, one was heard to say ''why did Birstall let that Blackie go, they've not been the same since. And he's really good looking too''.

it isn't really a contradiction, he only stated that we have new players and the team is still going because we didnt fold

he stated contradictions end of, obviously he cant put sentences together, very poor division 3 this season, backed up by looking at the last 2 seasons

division 3 must be the worst division in the league this season, its virtually all over and won by the whipping boys of last seasons division 3

Mivan 4 Bowden 0

Not much to say about the game really, we could have so many more and our keeper wasnt tested all game. Missing quite a few today (some lads drove back from Blackpool this morning just to play!) so was good to come away with the win. Bowden only had 11 and looked resigned to defeat as soon as the 2nd went it. They had a new lad in the middle (no.10) who was a very good,tidy and skilled player who (no disrespect) really was a class above the rest of the Bowden players.

Just on another thing about Bowden. Every time we have played them the game has been a really good, clean game and played with real sportsmanship. They are a real credit to The Alliance League.

to be fair tommy yes the league is not as strong as div 3 last year but not taking anything away from oakfield they have signed on a few good players and play some good football.. even there d1ckhead up front

Wow this rocket ledge guy is a bit angry ain't he. What does it matter to u how strong the div is. It's nowhere near as strong as last yr granted but that's cuz the league got it rite this season and the poyhunters like ureselves got moved on only to fold ha ha get a grip pal and concentrate on keepin a side together.

To be honest mate you can't call the lounge pot hunters when they went into 3 from division 5, after only just winning 5! Plus they didn't even win div 3! And were doing well in div 2 they certainly didn't fold because they weren't winning they folded because the numbers weren't turning up and tommy was being let down by certain people week in week out!

And also if you lot on here haven't worked out when tommy is fishing for a bite by now there's not much hope for you lol

Listen just think its a little offensive to div 3 teams there are sum good sides in it including us. Mabe not as strong as last yr. but it was stupid last yr we asked to go in div 4 last yr cuz we had players that hadn't played in years and got stuck in that 1. This year we add quality and hav done well so far. Don't think that means the division is weak or u could say the same for your division as u are romping it

Leicester Foxes Oldies 3 - 2 Royale Barcabullona

This is surely shock of the day and I can't believe more hasn't been made out of it. Leicester Foxes, massive underdogs in this one against a Royale Barca side of far superior quality. However, thats football, at times the best don't always come on top.

Foxes went 2 up from 2 long ball counter attacks and a heavy amount of luck involved for their goals it has to be said. Royale had dominated the game up to this point, and continued to do so, but had it not been for the woodwork and a few dissallowed goals we'd of been well out of sight in this one before half time.

Second half was constant pressure but to be fair, Foxes defended well, with their keeper pulling off save after save. A goalkeeping howler allowed their striker to finish first time from 30 yards to make it 3-1. We came back as you'd expect from a quality, well organised, and outstanding football team and made it 3-2 with goal of the season from P.Farmer. A missed pen, a shot off the line, and the woodwork again denied us in the last 15 mins.

This has to of gone down in history as one of the most 1 sided games...and for the better team to come away with nothing.

P.S. 2 footed tackles are definately considered a legitimate and fair attempt to play the ball these days.

MDH 3-4 Fairfield

decent game of football, we knew it was always going to be a tough one and showed them far too much respect early on, didn't really get our game going at all in the first half and played into their hands, went in 1-0 down with them the better of the two sides but very few chances at either end. Second half started pretty even, more a midfield battle than anything still not a great deal of chances, Fairfield got a second and that seemed to wake us up a bit, hitting back almost immidiatly. We had a bit more of the game after that but it was fairfield that got what looked like the killer blow to go 3-1 up with about 20 to play, a mix up between their Keeper and Centre back gave us a life line leaving me with pretty much an open goal 25 yards out for 3-2, then in the dying minutes Brennan turned in Jack Abbotts deep free kick from close range for 3-3 with 6 minutes left. We should of really shut up shop then but neither team looked content for a draw and it remained open, Fairfield grabbed a winner with 3 minutes left, a hopeful ball into the box more than anything was cut out by our keeper but then bundled in by the forward out of his hands, our defence and keeper were fuming to say the least, i didnt really have a view but those that did still cant understand how the ref allowed the goal to stand. Generaly speaking i thought the ref was weak, neither side honestly should have ended with 11 men on the pitch, a particularly dangerous 2 footed challenge from their midfielder in the first half was one of the worst i've seen in the past few seasons, our centre mid and their winger were both lucky too after quite a few persistantly poor tackles.

well played Fairfield, were the better of the two sides on the day, having got back into it we felt a little agreived with the manner of the winner, no fault of theirs though. Will look forward to the re-match later in the season, just hope for both sides there is a stronger official.
