So you've met the one and only Squire Mitchell?..... he's the one with his black hairband, did he score their goal?......and did he behave himself?

| I always behave myself! A very makeshift Wigston Rangers last night only 8 of the lads played for us last season, hence the lack of cohesion. Wasn't a bad performance in the end. Thurmaston are a very young bunch with alot of fitness, that should carry them through well this season. Good luck Ian, and if you fancy another friiendly nearer the season we are free on August 14th. | |

Dan Mitchell and New boy Michael Peck with the goals for Wigston. We actually played quite well today probably should have been a draw tried out some new players in new positions decent effort. Scored a cracking header but missed a sitter, mixed day for me personally. Cheers Bowden for the game, great bunch of lads, that Barby lads a bit special.

We gave them a 3-0 lead with silly mistakes very early on. Once we got going we played some very good stuff and pretty much dominated the second half from start to finish.
LDA goals from Stu Pratt (2), Stan Wallis, Mark Green & Dave Kennedy.

| qpr 4 spartans 5 typical qpr style- first half played well, should have scored alot more but that will come with sharpness, new strike partnership looking great, both put a shift in and made their defence think for a change. everything went downhill 2nd half when we made some changes. totally changed our style and lost the workrate which gave spartans so much time to get on the ball and cause us problems. my fault for 2 of the goals but these things happen going to be interesting playing against these in the season, great bunch of lads and althou i was dissapointed to loose, quite a lot of positives to build on goals verndog 2 shane jacko wayne the tank armstrong | |

Mivan finally get their first win! Made it hard for ourselves though! We could of have double figures by the end of the first half.. but somehow ended up 0-0 at half time. We came striaght out the block second half and took the lead. The game finished 3-2 with us takinf the lead everytime.
Overall good performance.. need to take or chances though.. QPR good bunch of lads, good luck for the new season!

| FC COL 5-4 Wigston Rangers 0-0 at half time somehow we failed to score. We made a silly substitute at half time put a lad on at centre half that couldnt hack it. 5-1 down. Subbed the poor lad off again with 10 minutes to go and we got it back to 5-4. We played the better foootball. I bagged the 4 WRFC goals, they were a good bunch of lads, but had we not been messing around with new players we would have won. Good luck to them for the new season. | |

Kicked off at 3pm in the searing heat with just 11 players and no keeper! We started well but ended up 1-0 behind after some poor defending.. we managed to turn the game around though to go in 2-1 up at half time. We started second half well and went 3-1 up, could of been four, if one of the COL subs hadnt blew a whistle when our lad went through one on one.. but in the end, having no subs hit us and the game was at 3-3, then we snatched it late on. Today was about getting through the 90 mins in weather like today, with a bonus win. Things are starting to turn (touch wood)...

| MDH Knights 5-2 Thurmaston goals from Stevens 2, Brennan, Dunne and Day. Thurmaston are a good set of lads and were well in the game for most of it, a couple of dangerous lads that could give teams problems this season, they were much sharper than us but that was expected as we haven't started training and it was our first run out since the end of last season. Our fitness, touch and passing was far from it's best making mistakes from back to front but turned the screw a bit in the last 3rd as they tired in the heat and should of had a few more. Job done now off to Spain to start our pre-season training | |

| Result from this morning..
Perrin Rangers 4 - 2 Fosse City
Thought we completely dominated the first half today, playing some really good football in the process. Declan Swan finished off a quality Fosse move to open the scoring, but we were then pegged back by a stunning 30 yarder against the run of play. We (cobbo) then missed a penalty and fell behind to an OG to go in at half time 2-1 down
We struggled to get going in the second half but did grab a lucky equaliser (another OG). Last 15 minutes we completely stopped playing and (an understrength?) Perrin completely took control, scoring a scrappy 3rd and then a decent 4th.
Overall, I thought Fosse probably edged it but we missed a few sitters and gave away a couple of sloppy goals. A decent runout and good luck to Perrin in the Premiership this season.

Organised another freindly against QPR last mintue and both teams had a good turn out. It was 0-0 at half time with each team pretty much canceling each other out. We did all the business in the second half and did it well. Team are really starting to gel now and looking forward to the rest of pre season and getting the season started!
