Had a lot of players missing today but the lads who stepped in played good stuff and was pleased with how we reacted after last week. Credit to Inter Mivan who we're a superb group of lads and played well themselves 2nd half. Welled reffed as always by Clive.

| West End Reserves 4 - 2 N.P.E
For the first time this season we had a full team turn up, Started the game really well from the off for the 1st time this season, going 1-0 up after 10mins, we then went 2-0 up shortly after, N.P.E then started playing football and pulled a goal back, from then on it was quite a tight game, their number 6 was unlucky with a thunder bolt of a shot from inside his own half that narrowly bounced over the bar, we then managed to get our noses further in front shortly after half time, but straight from the kick off N.P.E pulled a goal straight back and looked to be pushing on for the equaliser, they were unlucky as they did hit the back of the net but the linesman had flagged for offside ( im sure they will dispute their player was offside ). We then went 4-2 up with about 10mins to go, N.P.E looked to run out of steam to be fair.
N.P.E are a great bunch of lads (some of the challenges where below board but nevertheless) and bought some great support with them today.
Look forward to the return leg at their place.

| As above fair play to Beaumont killed us first half 8-0 up but 6 of them came from errors we made. We had 7 players but had our star striker back and he didn't disappoint us scoring a hat trick. Best half of football we have played to date and shown again when we dig in what we can do. Good luck to the Beaumont lads, one question as we were suppose to play at your place on the 10th Oct what happens now is it just reversed to our place? | |

Committment and work-rate won us this game. Matt Towers does what he does best and got both goals. We made a silly error for their goal when a quick goal kick went wrong and they put it into an empty net.
Very pleased with the result with a couple of quality players still missing. Hopefully this result will keep us top

| Beaumont United 6 Oadby Athletic 4
Scorers: Will Roderick x3 Oli Walker (penalty)
Oadby still waiting for the rest of our uni players to return, only had 11 men, the captain could barely run with a pulled hamstring.
Although Oadby have been battered lately, they proved they can easily compete in this league with this performance. Oadby looked likely to take the game when it was 4 all with 15 minutes left, Beaumont scored a good free kick and scored another winning.
Beaumont had some good players but really need to improve their discipline, quite a few dirty tackles especially their number 8?? who should have been sent off with a reckless high foot to our centre half's chest.
Hopefully Oadby proved today that as of next week; when they have a full squad, they are a very strong team capable of playing good football.

Starting to get into our stride a bit now with another good win against a decent wigston side. We went 1-0 down early in the first half but managed to get it together and came in at half time 3-2 up with Tom hill on top form putting 2 away and after that point the result was never really in doubt. Another big test for us next week in the shape of throops so I just hope we continue to improve.

good solid team performance deserved the win after dominating the game for most of the 90 mins, last 10 mins we sat back a little bit and let them attack, we shud of had 5-6 goals after some dodgy misses, by far our best performance and things starting to gel, looking forward to the harrow cup game next week now

magna deserved the win for me we were atrocious at the back with 2 missing doesnt help when most the team get in at 6.30am and try playing footy at 10.30 turned up like they couldnt lose after a good performance against advance and we got made to look like an average team we're better than that by far but saying all that they can only beat whats in front of them and overall deserved the win in my view.
thanks to the magna lads and good luck for the season

it was a close game just as the scoreline suggested but my personal opinion is that the lounge missed 6 or 7 great chances while harrow only missed 1 or 2, so i certainly think that the better side on the day won
i do think that both teams have more to offer and i thought the ref was good
highlight of the game though was the gingernut getting sparked out on the sidelines after a lounge player kicked the ball out of play at full blast straight into his boat , he went down like shaky trevor berbick, pure comic genius

came away disappointed not to get anything from this game and still not convinced it was a penalty..............
advance are a quality side though and their passing was crisp and they did miss a few chances, for some reason for 70mins of the game we played completely different to our usual style and that let advance control the game until the last 20 when we started to actually play properly. we lost but looking forward to the return fixture.
well done advance. | |

we didn't reverse the fixture as 3-4 of our lads had to be away by 12-30 today so if we had agreed to turn the fixture around for the last 20 mins of the game we would've only had 9 men and to be honest it wouldn't have been fair on you boys!!!

| As a man of leisure I went to watch NRI vs Sparta, which after 40 minutes I left at 0-0 as it wasn't the best of games.
Then went on to watch Oadby Owls vs CSKA, I never been to judgemeadow, but seems a good set up down there.
Impressed with Oadby too, they knocked it around alot, and I didn't see CSKA have a shot.
Must say, Danny King, ex AC Wigston lad scored a very good goal.
Next week I shall be looking at a Div 6 game, any suggestions?
