Sunday Vase -
We won but was not a great performance from the lads, should of been out of sight after the 1st half but came in winning 2-1 at half time. we went 4-1 up but the usual failure to see a game out appeared and we let them back in it, lots to improve on but we are in the draw for the next round thankfully!! P.S Coalville`s keeper was excellent for them today!!

| Wigston fields 1 - 7 friar lane.
Chris Weston with a wonder strike (just pinged off his foot uncontrollably really) for Wigston. The game Itself was about as good as the weather, rubbish. Half time friar were 2-0 up through a shot from the corner of the box after a foul through and a good header from a corner which was failed to be cleared off the line. Second half, we pulled one back and it looked for brief spells like the tide was turning until friar caught us on the break down the right and put in a good cross which was converted. After that the flood gates opened and it didn't rain but poured. Think a couple of there goals were offside (3/4) but our Lino was nowhere to be seen. They were Stronger and more physical than us in key areas and played some good football so credit to them for that.

Good to get back to winning ways after 2 defeats in a row and especially after the poor showing last week. They tried to play a bit of football but we had too much for them and could have easily hit double figures. Disappointed to have conceded 2 but will take the win and move on to the next round.
Great to get Aaron back on scoring form in a great fashion with 5!

| Todays game vs measham was a lively one! Proper backward place saw us coming through 3-2 winners. Was a tough game with us lively on the counter! Measham brought a big crowd down to watch who got on the refs back and he in turn buckled quite alot! Very happy with the win which keeps our run of straight wins going! 2 cracking strikes from chris dexter today, a 30 yard free kick pinging off a post then a 40 yard lob beating a well out of position keeper! Bring on the next round!!
Well done to all the div 6 sides flying the flag still! Some close results there!
Also Bowden, cracking result! Didn't see that one coming!

We were very poor today and we were well beaten in every department. They were the better team on the day and deserved it. They should have been down to 10 men after 10 min but that's out only complaint. Looking forward to getting back to the bread and butter of the league next week.

Hopefully u can go on a run now like last year! Appreciate the comments, we've not had a run in the cups for quite awhile! Just happy to be in the next round! Hopefully we get a trip to somewhere closer than bloody Measham next time! Trek and a half! With Wyvern "the favourites" being knocked out has left the Vase wide open now

| Superfly 3-2 St Marks
An absolutely super game to be involved in again. Very tightly contested, some good football played by both sides and most of all played in the right spirit, especially in the rain, making tackling difficult. Both sides had respect for one another.
Very close first half with us probably shading it after creating a few chances although there were chances at both ends. We took the lead with a nice move with st Marks looking a little slow at the back. The equaliser came before half time, the free kick hit the wall, the wall split and to be fair, the guy hit it well, creamed it with power past me from 20 yards out.
Second half started the same, very close and tight. With about 20 mins to go, a hard and low shot that should be dealt with by me, wasn't dealt with and it slipped through to make it 2-1. Thankfully for me, the lads carried on pressing and as Clive says, we were still 2-1 down with 3 mins to go and we turned it around, much to my relief. Jay Heighton scoring one and unselfishly squaring the ball for our boy to make it 3-2 in dramatic fashion.
Very well reffed by Clive too.

Was that with your waving hands at that free kick Widds? Watched both Trinderbox and NRI today, good wins for both clubs l, whilst the other game at Uplands AC Wigston vs a n another looked a cracker. Have to say as much as it pains me, given the surface I actually thought NRI played some very good football, couple of great team goals whilst the 4th goal was a class individual goal, the lad must have waltzed around 5 of there lads and tucked the ball away nicely!

Went 1-0 up, 2-1 down, 3-2 up, then Matt Langham scored a late free-kick.
4-3 down, 4-4, then lost 5-4 with four minutes of extra-time to be played.
Paid for missing a host of chances (again), but a decent, open cup tie. Onwards to our priority now, survival in the Alliance Premier League.

| I will agree with our keeper with the superfly vs st marks game was a very competitive game by both sides unfortunately by half time 2 of our 4 defenders were both injured, very tight game could of went both ways, couple of debatable lino decisons in the game but apart from that very good game from two teams that i think can beat any team in that divison,
Good result for us an good luck to st marks for the rest of the season,
Also thought ref had a v good game today

| White Eagles 5-4 Plough Thorpe Acre
A good victory from our lads again today with a bare 11, with 3 players out injured and 3 working. We were 3-0 up within 15 minutes (again) and somehow went into the break 3-2 with Plough scoring their two only real chances of the half. Having blown a 3-0 lead at Oak and a 3-1 lead at Mivan - both to lose as well as a 3-0 lead last week against Trinderbox for them to peg us back to 3-3 (we eventually won), it was a case of deja vu.
The lads dug in deep and stepped up a gear again and we were 5-2 up after about 60 minutes looking comfortable before Plough got two quickfire goals from nothing again which was disappointing. But we kept the ball well and kept the game tight and did enough for the win. We created enough chances and defended well enough to have won possibly 9-0 on another day but a win's a win and into the last 16 we go!
Praying not to get Oak AGAIN in the next round!

Ref didn't hav a great game either joe Latham should hav been sent and so should their keeper in the last few mins wouldn't hav made a difference tho ,but we had 2 booked and they had none which was outrageous.

Really tough game, thringstone are really good, young side.Went in at break 1-1 and fancied nicking a result at the time, then saw they had made 3 subs for the 2nd half who were quality and very quickly found ourselves beaten. They were the better team on the whole but sure they played/brought on some saturday players which to be fair i reckon they can do but seemed unfair to us.Harsh after how well we played in first 45 but were just a sunday league team and they have youth teams, sat teams etc so very hard to compete when all there players are available. They could well go on to finals although hope they dont,no disrepect to them but want a proper sunday club to win it....
Come on alliance teams !!!!!!!!!!

Competitive game from start to finish in horrible weather conditions and a boggy pitch. Tackles were flying in everywhere and at times it did get a little heated between both sets of players. 2 crackers from ash that brought up his hat-trick and our keeper kept Humberstones score down. All in all i am very pleased with the win and the performance from our boys and now we move on to the next game.

Why dont you stop moaning and put your money where your mouth is? Get on the committee? Put yourself up for election and stop slagging people off who are essentially volunteering to help...you are starting to look like a mug now mate...
As for listening to rumours, wasnt the rumour that Aylestone would be Robbos Garage reincarnated? Look at them...i think all committee members should take a year out, let you and the others that keep moaning run the league, and watch as it folds in under 12 months because you havent got enough time, or you listened to rumours etc....
I hope Gordon doesn't see this and decide to knock it on the head, because if we lose people like that, then you will be to blame for the league failing....

we are proof that you cant always rely on rumors!! Exactly mate...with hindsight its bloody easy to choose which rumours to listen too! I bet there were about 10 different 'concrete' rumours pre-season, how many have come true? About one i reckon....so the league got it 90% correct....
