| Spring is just around the corner! - Evening fixtures a month away, for some - actually we are reasonably well advanced
And still plenty to settle

| LKS 4 Wigston Rangers 3
Watson, L Firth (2)
A real topsy-turvy game today, the pitch wasn't in great shape and the wind definitely played its part . They got the ball down much better than us and played some good stuff, however, we nicked a couple of goals on the break and had the lead. On a difficult footballing day some very 'Sunday league' goals were scored - some heartbreakingly unlucky and others wind assisted wondergoals. On another day it might have been us winning 4-3.
Looking forward to the reverse fixture and just want to thank LKS' manager and secretary as well as the league for getting the game on when it didn't look likely.

| Watched 1st half star vs azzurri Star showed class and passed ball we'll Azzurri had strong team out and caused star some problems was close game until a totally shocking decision by referee and we all get same old story stay of ref back but in this decision ref should be ashamed of what he done Star player 1on1 beat keeper ball hits post rolls across line azzurri player clears ball where I stood half way line had no chance of knowing game played on azzurri broke down right wing was almost onto stars defence when ref (standing half way line ) blew and said goal Disgracefully said he thinks was a goal and out off 22 players only 1 said it went in he couldn't off seen ball over line from half way line Reuned the game for azzurri who looked like to give star a game but ended up having man sent off for protesting against the decision | |

| Stokes cup semi final: Friar Lane 2 - 1 Wigston Fields
Stef Kuzyk
Very disappointed to lose in the way we did. First half we struggled, especially playing against the wind and Friar Lane created a host of chances which our keeper dan McDonald was equal to. Well and truly kept us in it first half. Friar lane looked dangerous from set plays with there height and it was a corner that undid fields. The defence failing to clear and the ball turned goalwards to make it 1-0 to friar lane at half time. Into the second half and fields came out. Pressured friar lane more and battled well. Stef Scott put in a cross from the left hand side which went all the way only for the linesman to rule it out for offside against our striker in the box. We continued to press and looked the stronger team, Stef Kuzyk had the ball in the back of the net after a good strike but was ruled out for offside again. Friar lane hit the bar with a looping shot but didn't create much else clear cut. A Callum Marvin free kick found Stef Kuzyk who's improvised header floated into the net to equalise. Into the last 5 minutes or so and controversy hit. A ball into the box was punched clear by fields keeper who was clattered and went down injured and the ball fell to the edge of the box. As our player tried to close him down he was pulled back allowing space for the friar lane player to run into the box a score with our keeper still injured. There was time to stop play, and everyone was aware of the situation but chose not to. Sad end to otherwise a good game. Was very much a game of two halves.

| Ath Blaby 1 Foxes 3
Game of two halves, played some really good stuff first half, battled hard to earn a 1-0 lead, second half just fell to pieces, nothing went for us foxes deservedly won, they are a beatable team, but when you get relegated a division after winning div 1, what do you expect?
Roll on the semi final next weekend!

| global 1 aberdale 1 we were looking to make it 4 wins on the bounce but couldn't get going in the 1st 20 mins with global causing us problems with balls coming in to us from wide positions they took a deserved lead midway through the first half with a well placed header thought we were going to score but global keeper made a brilliant double save to keep us out then tipped another effort over the bar second half was us pressing with not a lot of openings with around 15 left adam brookes rose to head in with header to make it 1-1 we pushed with our centre back playing right wing to get a winner which wouldn't come and global nearly catching us on the break a few times all in all I guess a fair result good luck to the global boys for the remainder of the season we just want to finish on a strong run in our first season ps well done to trinderbox on beating vale again just shows u what a competitive league div 5 is | |

| Seaton 1-2 Oak
Scorer - Matt Copson (2)
M.O.M - Jay Oliver
Horrible conditions to play in. Weather and pitch contributed to a poor game. Seaton were definitely the better team in the first half. We found it hard being over ran in midfield a little and they opened us up well on a few occasions. Second half and a couple of substitutes we were able to find the net within a couple of minutes of the restart. Matt Copson added his 2nd of the game with a tap in on the line! Seaton pushed for an equaliser but we held out and defended very well.
Was nice to play a sound bunch of lads! Was a very fare game.
Ourselves and Seaton obviously to go down now but both teams were on par with each other so I would expect maybe playing them next season. Good Luck to them for the rest of the season! Seaton have done very well to come this far with bare bones each week where other teams would of just jacked it in.

| Royalists 0-1 Pukka Pies (Stokes Cup Semi Final)
Went down to watch the Stokes Cup Semi between Royalists & Pukka Pies
First point to be made what an awful place to pick for a semi final, there was no on site parking so had to try and find a suitable place to dump the motor and the changing rooms were a dive.
A very end to end game, with the strong wind that was blowing it made it very difficult for both teams.
Pukka pies were deserved winners with the only goal of the game coming on about 35 minutes with them hitting the post twice and the keeper before finally bundling the ball into the net. Pukka's defence were outstanding and kept Royalists to long range efforts which rarely troubled the Pukka Keeper who has one of the biggest kicks I've ever seen from a Sunday league player. Second half the frustration from Royalists started to show as they took a cheeky few kicks at some of the Pukka lads (Number 8 for Royalists especially), with him eventually being shown a yellow card after numerous fouls. From the resulting free kick the Pukka keeper had a shot at goal from mid way inside his own half which left the Royalists keeper back peddling only for it to cannon back off of the crossbar (deserved a goal for the effort).
Interesting final for Holmes park now between Friar Lane & Pukka, & I will certainly be there hoping for a Pukka Victory

A message passed on by the lads who got up to set things up so this semi final could go ahead! We do apologise about no on site parking, if you had let us know when you had arrived one of us would of come to your car and piggy backed you to the changing rooms!!! Also Wembely was already being used for a match yesterday so that couldn't get booked, really what was you expecting for a Sunday league semi final?? Maybe you should have asked the league to try and get the King Power for you?? We played a Stokes cup semi final almost 10 years ago. We thanked the host club for their hard work in setting this up instead of moaning about meaning less things!

Quick thank you to the four or five Tumar lads that were there way before the two teams and officials to set the ground up- I know I wouldnt have managed to get that many! Everything went smoothly shame the wind spoiled what was a close game.
