| The Bill Walton Cup moves a little closer to Holmes Park - and are some of the Division winners becoming any clearer?

| Medz 2 - 1 Wigston Fields 2012 FC
Goal scorer: David Swanson
Bit disappointed not to come away with anything from this game as we battled well and worked hard for the majority of the game. Medz started off brightly and used the hill to their advantage but James field ushered the defence well and with a bit of luck we stood firm. Medz hit the post and had a goal disallowed for offside, and one disallowed for a foul which were our let offs. We never really got out of first gear but mark Allen had a glorious opportunity that he would normally bury but the keeper produced a fantastic save to deny him. This woke us up a bit and Fields took the lead when a corner was headed back across goal by mark Allen and David Swanson poked home. Fields should have made it two when the ball was crossed low in from the right wing and somehow jay bray couldn't get enough of a contact to bury it. Then Medz came back with a goal of their own after some best play the cross wasnt dealt with by our keeper, or our defence and their player scored an acrobatic goal to equalise from 12 yards. Great finish in all fairness. After the break Wigston had the hill but didn't produce a lot. A couple of half chances and attacks but it was Medz who looked more lively. But we stood strong and forced them to mainly long range shots. But a sloppy pass in the middle of the park 5 minutes from time allowed their midfield to drive forward pass the ball and their player to strike the ball into the net to give Medz all 3 points. With quite a few players out, including 3 centre backs we had to shuffle the pack around and only having 14 available the lads put a shift in and were unlucky.

| Shoemakers 1-0 SPARTA MOSHDOCK
Bad day at the office against 10 men. They sat with everyone behind the ball as you would expect and defended well.
They nicked a goal from a set piece, which was an abysmal decision from the referee.
The less said about their linesman and his 'interesting' decisions the better but the ref didn't help either. Guess I shouldn't say anymore than that.

| Little Bowden 2 Suecastle 3
This was a must win game for us and coming away with the 3 points was all that mattered. Little Bowden boasted a much changed and improved line up to our two previous meetings and pushed for all 90 minutes.
In all honesty, the game lacked quality. I'd pick out our keeper as for special praise but apart from that there was little to talk about in terms of good football. The game was settled by a series of errors by both sides so we were glad to come away from the game with all 3 points despite having played somewhat sort of our best.
Suecastle goals game from George Tyler, Zak Woolman and an own goal.
Good luck to Little Bowden for the rest of the season.

| GT 1 Frolesworth 2
A pretty good game on a pretty bad pitch. Frolesworth had the best of the first half and could have been three of four up against a hungover GT. 2-0 at half time, GT dominated the early part of the second half of pulled one back, but never really troubled Frolesworth after that. Barnes Gladman was excellent for the victors. Tough semi against S&G next week.

| FC AZZURRI 5 v 3 Phoenix utd
Got to start off by saying I was impressed with Phoenix, they turned up before us, looked the part and look like they have a well organised set up. We were very sluggish today, and apart from the first 15-20 mins of the 2nd half we didn't look anything like the team I've watched this season. We took an early lead and literally I think Phoenix equalised straight from the re-start, we got another before half time to take us in 2-1 up. We got 2 quick goals to take us 4-1 up, Phoenix pulled one back we got a 5th them Phoenix got their 3rd.
Phoenix are definitely a team for the future they are a good young side that if they stick together could do very well, they are good on the counter attack and like I said to their gaffer they were probably missing someone in the middle of the park to get their foot on the ball at times today, one or two experienced heads would make a massive difference to their side. Good luck for the rest of the season lads.
Our scorers were
Ryan Allen 3 Lee Barrett Tony Fitzpatrick

| FC Pochin 1 v 0 Leicester Forest Foxes
Jordan Cunningham
Amazingly for a team top of the table we only had 9 players at about 10.15am but the manager scraped 13 together for kick off only for us to lose Kenroy to injury very early on.
We weren't particularly good again today but fought out a 1-0 win against a Foxes team who were a lot better than the side I watched with Malc at the start of the season. I was quite impressed with how they knocked the ball around and must say they certainly attack in numbers!!
Our goal came from Jordan smashing it in from about 10 yards following a lovely cross from Jacko.
We also lost Curt to injury in the 2nd half with the re-shuffle meaning we had youngsters Emerson and Kieron (combined age of 14 I think) playing up top for us.
We move on and I'll take 8 more 1-0's from now til May...

| Niffy Reserves 8-1 Fairfield Started off a very even game, with both defences ropey 1st half. Niffy keeper saving a peno to see Niffy with a narrow 1-0 lead going in at the break. For what ever reason Fairfield seem to lose their way 2nd half, and Niffy started to run ragged, even the centre half that struggled in the air all day got on the score sheet with a nice header. How is the kid that seem to be alot of pain??? | |

| lks 11-1 birstall rangers Felt sorry for Birstall yesterday as they only turned up with 8 men to start the game and it was 2-0 when 2 more of there men turned up and not long afterwards had the full quota, They never gave up and played the game in great spirits and there striker scoring a lovely goal after beating 2 of our defenders !! We played some good football yesterday and the lads seemed more intent with taking the micky out of each other at times rather than trying to play football , we scored some cracking goals with some real nice football being played.. All the best to Birstall for the remainder of the season , great bunch of lads who never gave in | |

| Mivan 4-2 Sporting Birstall
Deserved win for us yesterday against a good Birstall side. 1-0 down within 10 minutes of start, not the best start to the game. But we came back with 4 great goals and a stone wall peno, not given but you never get them all. With 20 left we took the foot of the gas and with 10 mins left Birstall grabbed another but we held out for the 3 points. Birstall are a good footballing team with good attacking players and good banter with the players. Good luck for the rest of the season to them, top 3 team. For us its onwards and upwards, lots of new players this season and now starting to gel. Fingers crossed over the next 2 months we can climb the table to a top half finish (hoping so anyway). Well reffed as well, Birstall no 11 could have been sent off for raising arms, but common sence reffing, always like to see 11 V 11.
