| Medz 3 - 5 Enness United
Game started woefully for us as we conceded from poor defending. 5 mins later we broke the offside and with a square ball from Alex smith, Kyle Hanson had a tap in. After gaining an indirect free kick just past the halfway line, Iain Gray lofted the ball in and after it bounced and the keeper was tracking back, the ball went in the goal after he got a slight touch on it, so the goal stood. At 2-1 our defence were still a bit shakey and a free header from a Medz player looped over our keeper who tipped the ball onto the bar and we cleared it. A few minutes later, a drilled in corner from Alex Smith, Met by Todd Shingler, made the game 3-1.
Second half going uphill was always gonna be hard but a cool finish from Alex smith made it 4-1. Tbf to medz, they kept pressing and with two more defensive errors from our defence it became 4-3! They pressed all the way till the end forcing saves from our keeper. On the break however, the ball fell to Iain Gray who smashed the ball home to make it 5-3 and finish the game off.
The game ended sourly however with our keeper putting the ball out of play for one iof our injured players, the medz players played on from it which caused arguments between the two teams. There was only seconds remaining so it wasn't worth it. It was a shame that they ended the game like that when the result was finalised anyway.

| WPR 4 FC Tumar 3 - Very foggy conditions to start with, with WPR taking the lead early on and then taking the lead each time, going into the last 10 mins 4-2 up, FC Tumar scored late on to take it 4-3 but WPR dominated play to come out of the game with the win, a good performance from the lads against a team 2 divisions higher. good set of lads at FC Tumar and we wish you well for the remainder of the season | |

| Oadby Owls 5-1 Oak
Scorer
Chris Love
Our first game in The Arthur Moore, and unfortunately not our last! Game played in the right spirit and a good bunch of lads at Oadby, and I wish them and Mill all the best for the season.
First half was quite scrappy and a comedy first goal saw Oadby take the lead and our heads dropped. But what can you expect?? A speculative shot from the Oadby attacker then found the back of the net to make it 2-0. But a bit of brilliance from Chris Love got us back into the game with a good finish. The first half then was played out quite evenly as Oadby seemed to start mis placing a few passes.
Second half we tried to keep up with their pace and fitness but they started to rip us to bits and but for a couple of decent saves from our keeper could of been more.
We did have a couple of chances and if we could of taken just one or two we could of perhaps ground out a draw. But Oadby fully deserved the win and credit to them.
Another top reffing performance which was good to see. Apart from the first ref we had in our first two matches of the season everyone has been pretty much top notch.
Looks like we may of picked up a re-accuring injury to an influential player. Very much on a recruitment drive so if you fancy a challenge then get in touch!

| Desford Athletic 1-4 Suecastle
Probably one of our better all round performances of the season so far. The game was fairly even for the first twenty minutes but from then on we really were the better side. Both sides missed a couple of chances in the first half (both bad finishing and good goalkeeping the cause) but we managed to go in at the break 2-0 up thanks for Jack Hirst and Adam Tester. It probably should have been 3-1. After snatching a goal back Desford threatened to get back into the game but a 25 yard wonder strike from Ben Hirst made it 3-1 and a little more comfortable. Desford had a goal correctly chalked off for offside with not long to play but we managed to seal the win with a well deserved goal for Harvey Jones to make it 4-1. Truth be told we could and definitely should have scored a lot more goals on Sunday but it was a brilliant win none the less.
It was great to see a number of good results for Div 5 teams against opposition from higher leagues and it will be good to see our league well represented in the draw for round 2.

| Pukkas 7-3 Inter Mivan
Don't let the score deceive you, was a very close game until near the end. We went 1-0 down by a sloppy set piece the ball hitting our keeper, from the first header from a corner, then rebound onto the bar and finally put into the net, 1-0 Mivan. We then equalised to make it 1-1 about 5 minutes later with a strike by Ash Aldridge assisted by me. We then conceded another sloppy goal but very well worked by Mivan, one player took on 4 of ours to drill a low cross into near post and a nice flick by the Mivan player put it past our keeper. We then won a penalty through a handball, when I tried to flick it over the defend and it rolled down his arm, penalty put away nicely by Brendan Osbourne. Not long before half time we grabbed the lead to go 3-2 up a great move by us nice football where the ball fell to me inside the 18 yard box and placed into bottom corner. 3-2 HALF TIME!
Second half we started well, but on the counter attack Mivan equalized to make it 3-3. This is where Mivan fell apart, we bought on a few fresh legs and that proved to our advantage, with Joe scoring a hat trick, coming off the bench, 2 set up by me and one by Ian, and also a goal from Ian, set up by me again, put the game to bed to make it 7-3. Very close game until last 20 minutes where we killed off the game.
Great game in good spirit, good luck for season, and nice to see Div 5 upset some teams in the cup!

| Don't include Global beating FC Pochin as an upset - far from it.
This is not the Pochin side that won division 5 and got bumped up 3 divisions - we only have 3 players from last season so technically I think that means we should have been relegated.
Started the game with the bare 11 and finished with 8.
Good to see the legend that is John Snashall come on for a 15 minute cameo at the end for Global though - top man

A good game played in good spirit, won deservadly so by Pukka. Strong team Pukka, play good football and will be in top 4 come end of season. We were in the game till 20 mins from end and we just collapsed, equallising to make 3-3 you would think we have the advantage but pukka became clyincal in the last 20. Good luck to Pukka until we meet again ..lol..
