Wigston Fields 5 - 2 Groby Town

Mark Allen x 3
Stef Kuzky
Chris Whitmore

Groby turned up with the bare 11 and credit to them gave us a good game and a run for our money. We took the Chance to rotate and rest a few players for the cup and give some people a run out. It Was a scrappy and somewhat casual game to start with for both teams with neither team creating many clear cut openings. Fields took the lead early in the first half when mark Allen was played through and rounded the keeper but his left foot shot was cleared off the line only for Chris Whitmore to fire home from close range in his first game of the season. Groby went on to equalise with a rocket of a free kick
Which flew in to the top corner; goal of the game. This woke fields up and regained the lead when Danny Lawlor set mark Allen up to fire his first shot at the keeper but buried the rebound with his left. Shortly after it was 3 when Danny lawlor's shot come cross was saved by the keeper for mark Allen again to bury. Groby made it 3-2 just before the break with a powerful header from a corner. Into the second half and more of the same with Groby making some openings and fields trying to counter. It was soon 4-2 when again Danny lawlor put in a delicious ball to who else but mark Allen to loop the ball over the keeper for his hatrick. It then turned to 5 when mark Allen Whipped In a corner for Stef Kuzyk to get the faintest of flicks past the keeper. Another good result and on to the next round.

Humberston 2000 0 - 3 Enness United

Great to get back to winning ways today.

0 - 0 at half time although both teams had chances. We came out stronger in the second half and a lovely 25 yard swerving shot from Iain Gray have us the lead. Still playing stronger a cross from Luke Dilley brought a mistake from their keeper and landed in the goal. Still looking strong, we kept pushing and our debutant striker, Alex Smith, got his first goal.

Happy with the attitude of the players today and now looking like the team we were at the start I the season!!

Well done lads!!

FC City of Leicester 1 v 6 FC Pochin

Chris Durrance 4
Jordan Cunningham 2

Much changed team from last week and without our top goalscorer but a decent enough team performance. We played some nice football at times and maybe should have had a few more goals with the FCCOL keeper pulling off 3 or 4 fine saves.

Just a mention for Rio who is in hospital following our win at Wigston last week - get well soon mate

Shoemakers 4 v 6 FC Azzurri

Great win for us today in what was a very scrappy game with neither side playing that much football but we'll take the points. Good to see the lads grinding out results, we were 2-0 up after 10 mins then 3-2 down at half time, got back to 3-3 then went 4-3 down! Then we were awarded 2 penalties in quick succession to take us into a 5-4 lead, 6th goal killed the game off and we then just tried to run the clock down.

Credit to both sides aswell for actually playing the game following the failure of a ref to turn up because he was injured but hadn't told anyone, instead of just not playing the game after a few phone calls we managed to get stew walker to save the day and get the game played. Our goals coming from Rilke bates hat trick who is on fire at the minute, Ryan Allen 2 and tony Fitzpatrick.

This was a big result for us, really hopin we can kick on for rest of the season now!! Also well done to moshdock and s&g for there wins in the Fa cup !! Thurmo sound like they had bad luck with an own goal late on?

A.F.C Royal Oak 6 - 0 Aylestone Athletic

Scorers
Simon Herbert ( 3 )
Dave Weston
Kyieth Maynard
O.g

Cracking result for us today! First half performance is the best I have seen us play this season. Were 4-0 up by half time! We played at such a high tempo in the first half that Aylestone could not keep up. We kept them pegged back in their own half for long periods and if it wasnt for their keeper having a humongous kick then I think our defence wpuld of had an even easier first half.

Simon Herbert, restored to the front line today managed to knock in a rare triple. 2 great headers from crosses from either wings saw him putting us well in control. An unfortunate own goalput us 3-0 and some persistance from Danny Maxwell saw him present Simon Herbert with a tap in for his trick.

2nd half we came out and were a little slower which was to be expected but we got another two goals with a sweet strike from man of the match Dave Weston. Also was good to see Kyieth Maynard making an appearance and getting a deserved goal!

Aylestone rarely threatened and I cant remember them having an effort on target. It looked like they were missing a few this week but taking nothing away from our lads who were relentless today!

Jacksdale 7 thurmaston 5

Wow what a game, thurmaston took the lead from a freekick just inside there half, wiv there number 6 who was the best player on the pitch, who landed on our centre mid then pushed his head in2 the ground whisch was surley raising ur hands to an opponent very lucky 2 stay on the pitch, the free kick was taking coleman 2 the bk post where bucko rose like a salmon to score, the second goal came from di costa clearing wiv an header just inside the centre circle to split there defence and coleman 2 get there b4 the keeper 2 get the second taking a clattering 4 his cause, now heres where thurmaston struggled all game over playing and not clearing there lines, bit of over play and there number 6 who was very lucky 2 b on the pitch after a few wild tackles and the incident that led 2 our goal came through and got through and poked it past our keeper, that was pretty much till ht

Second half our idea was 2 keep it out the middle cause they were running the game, the equalised from the spot cross came in over buckos head there was a player behind him between him and sharmo they collieded ref didnt hesitate at pointing at the spot, our 3rd came from a free kick dwn in the rite corner 2 the bk post coleman again the provider 4 bucko 2 rise again and make it 3 2, the 4th came from coleman the crossing genius plantted on conner packwoods head 4 2, here comes the bad bit again not clearing our lines they put a ball over our defence there lad got there just b4 james in goal 4 3, that was it till last 3 mins they were pushing 4 the equaliser got a cross in from the right bit of confusion led to our centre back to put in his own net, cue et

6/7 mins in2 et, there lad ran at eddie playing left bk, he hit a shot which hit eddies arm penno again which there lad put in the same place , 5 4, cnt remember the 6th lol our 5th come from a quick taken free kick hit by you guessed it coleman, from bout 35yrds hit the post hit the keeper and in, we were the pushing 4 the equaliser the last min we got a free kick in the last min coleman floated it in and it hit the bar came out they broke and scored as our keeper was up

Well played lads u wanna b proud, no doubt who mom was involved in all the goals coleman, wonder if they will all turn up nxt sunday morning

Wigston Rangers 6 Little Bowden 0 ( aet )

Not quite sure how to describe today's game, very lack lustre first half but still created enough chances to be out of sight, huffed and puffed 2nd half again creating numerous good chances but we couldn't score.

Went into extra time and then pretty much every chance we had in extra time flew in, some decent strikes, was important to rattle a few goals in after last weeks blank even though it did take us longer than I would have liked.

Again though, can't fault the lads for persevering after it looked like the goals were never going to come as the frame of their goal was MOM.

Goals from

Dan Mitchell 2
Leon Coleman 2
Joe Marlow 1
Luke Brennan 1

Monsell WMC Res 1-3 Q.P.R

Q.P.R made 4 changes to the starting line up with Aidy,Curtis, Omar coming into the side while we handed a 1st start to Q.P.R spanish midfield maestro Alberto.

We made a slow start which was to be expected with so many changes it also took time adapt to the very long & narrow pitch ( only just a little bit wider then the 18 yard box)

We fell behind to a penalty given away by Kev Pateman when he did his best NFL tackle on the centre forward in the box. The penalty was despatched to the keepers left who didn't get near it.

It took Q.P.R another 15 mins to get level when it came from a corner deep to the back post where Tom West managed to loose his marker & have a free header into the top corner. It remained 1-1 until the break.

Q.P.R brought H on in place of Omar for the 2nd half to add some height up front & we started the 2nd half in alot more control , we then took the lead with a well worked corner which was driven in low & hard to the near post where the unlikeliest of players Kev Pateman was on the end of the ball to volley in from 9 yards.

Q.P.R made their fitness tell as the game wore on & they wrapped the game up after H beat the Monsell offside trap to slot past their impressive keeper 1 on 1.

Special mention to Aidy on the left wing who played his 1st 90 mins of competitive football & did a solid job where his man didn't get a sniff.

Man of the match : Alberto Perera our simple passing spanish import
