Let's keep the friendly match results off of this page, please Good luck to all teams - you all start exactly level - (even the professional game cannot claim that with the minus points totals). Throughout the coming season, whether it be sun. rain, wind, frost or snow - ENJOY YOUR ALLIANCE FOOTBALL

| FC Pochin 8 v 1 Countesthorpe Athletic (Division 5)
Chris Durrance 2 Emerson Chambers-Black 2 Kyle Winston Aran Leacock Lewis MacDonald Daz Horner
Outstanding team performance from us today, much changed personel from our pre-season but master stroke by the manager to play Chris Durrance in centre mid with Robin 'enforcer' Cooper holding. One of Chris's goals being a volley from about 30 yards.
Goals all over the pitch (including 3 from defenders) which is something we missed last season.
Countesthorpe are not a bad team to be fair, they came at us strong at the start of the 2nd half and the lad up front (Jordan I think, the skipper) will score plenty this season - good luck for the season.

Gutted about the result but not about our performance, we are definitely work in progress and if we can match the desire we shown today then we have optimism for the season ahead.
We never got the rub of the green on a few important decisions but you have to take it on the chin and move on.
Dan Mitchell with our goal.

I was at The Star Inn v Phoenix today for the first half and it was a really good game, with plenty of chances for both teams. The Star Inn scored after literally about 10 seconds (a really good Finnish) then Phoenix equalised within about 2 minutes. Star scored again and Phoenix equalised again and it was 2-2 before 10 minutes!!! The game then settled and Phoenix scored before half time to lead 3-2. Felt it could go either way but if I am honest thought Star Inn looked a little rusty with a few cobwebs? Both teams looked good and certainly tried to pass the ball around and play football. Def think we've got Star in the right division and think they will improve with games and time. Phoenix will do ok also and like I say played football when they could!

| Groby 4 Blaby 1 Not the start that we wanted really. Played well for the first 20-30 minutes until they scored their first goal. Some sill mistakes costing us. Hopefully we can improve for the next game but we will still be without Andy Lapwroth and our new centre midfielder untill the 3rd game and it was obvious they were missing yesterday. Oh well, onwards and upwords. Some brilliant saves from our new keeper, kept the score at a half decent number.
Fair play to Groby, good bunch of lads and played some really good football. Defence looked really well set. Look forward to the return fixture.
Jay O scored our only goal.

| NKSR 2-1 Wigston rangers
The way Wigston set out I thought we were going to get drubbed. Dan Mitchell and the blonde haired lads movement was brilliant for them uptop and Mitchell hit both posts before he scored and we looked very Ropey until we scored a cracking 30yard strike through hilly then it was all us we had 2 cleared off the line and some good saves by their keeper also grant McCarthy Skyed one from 4 yards out with an open goal. Harry hurst put us 2-1 up with 18 to go which kicked rangers back into life. They had 2 or 3 good chances to equalise. Good 3 points against a very good side. Great game played properly
Good luck Wigston | |
