Oak 2 - 1 Dukla

Frustrating day at the office for dukla, I think we afforded oak a bit 2 much respect 1st half and gave away 2 very cheap goals! Inbetween these goals we lost one of our best players (Luke Flanders) to a cracked rib after been taken out by an Oak player (don't think it was intended, but he certainly cleaned Luke up) the 1st goal was poor ball watching and the 2nd.....well I'm not going there lol!! 2nd half we switched on and Oak didn't have a proper effort at goal, but we did lose another player to the hospital after an Oak player led with his elbow and cut open our right backs forhead after that we took the game to them, we had a few half chances which wouldn't fall our way then we got our reward from a corner which was met at the back post by our in form striker Phil Heron Smile we kept pushing but couldn't find a way past a resilient Oak defence!! I do wish the best for Oak on their long run in and we will see what we can do when we meet them on the 28th

Blaby United 7 - 1 Wigston Fiedls

Jay Bray

Another game another diabolical performance. We would struggle to beat an under 8s team at the minute. Inside 5 minutes they win a dubious penalty, seem then given and not given. They scored to put them 1-0 up. We repsonded reasonable well but still playing woeful. Our best passing move of the game resulted in mark Allen finding acres of space in behind the defence on the 18 yard box in which he took a touch rounded a defender and drilled it across goal for jay bray to tap in. That's as good as it got for us. Blaby time after time got free in behind with one ball and split our whole defence. Our inability to defend from corners cost us another 4 goals. But the goal of the game was from our keeper who had to fill in at centre back, from a blaby goal kick dan McDonald was underneath the ball and headed it from the semi circle of the half way line back to our keeper and the wind took it over him after the bounce for a delicious own goal. Highlight of the game.

Thurmaston 3 - 2 Fosse City

Thurmaston alot cleverer than last time we played them.

Went in 2-1 up at half time but in truth we never turned up second half after some 'excitement' at the end of the first half.

Thurmo have a cracking team, it's a shame they don't concentrate fully on actually playing football. Last minute winner was a little bit annoying but to be honest I think we are all relieved that this season is now over.

All the best to Thurmo in trying to topple Azzurri, I personally hope they don't manage it.

Fosse scorers Jamie Barnett & Nathan Williams.

Advance Couriers 2 v 3 fairfield dynamo

Dynamo scorers

Leon doughty 2
Adam tester

Very tough game today in very windy conditions, we were one nil down at half time and and deservedly so.. we were much better second half, we scored early only for rich saunders to score his and advance second goal... we kept plugging away and leon doughty scored two late headers to put us through to the semi...

We are chuffed to bits to get this far in the cup, we hope it can continue..

Advance as always a great set of lads and gracious in defeat

Oak 2-1 Dukla

Scorers
Paul Cox
Chris Haines

Wow what an awful Game of football to watch and be involved in! We were playing at a snails pace and on the rare occasion we did hit a few quick one twos we got in a few decent positions.
The pitch is in an awful state and with the wind, a long kick from our keeper found it's way to Coxy who finished well. Second goal was comical! Chris " the Rock" haines was helping the ball into the box and bounced infront of the keeper and straight into the corner of the net!

The 30 min break waiting for an ambulance for Dukla players cracked rib did not help the game! Hope the chap is ok though and there was no intent from our player at all as he just wanted the ball more!
So went into half time after not being under too much pressure! and came out in first gear! No real quality on the pitch attacking wise! Can't remember our keeper having to make many saves at all and same for Dukla! Think there were more foul throws than shots :/
Dukla though got a goal on about 85th minute with a free header at the back post coming off our centre back! Dukla then pressed for the last few mins but we held out!

In my opinion, Eddy at the back for us was Man of the Match who kept it very tight at the back for us!

We need to pick our game up ASAP if we are going to mount this title challenge!

You should now really go forward and win Division 2 comfortably now as you clearly have the talent to do so.

Fccol 4-4 plough.

Fair result I think. Fccol prob have best forwards in this league for me created problems all game Shaun got hat trick then had to go off hope he's ok. Probably the worst game out the three games we have had with fccol but only one got something out off. Class display from curt 16 today who didn't really notice in other game but Defo bossed the midfield today. Well played fccol good lads enjoyed all games against shame we didn't hang on to the win but that's football.

Blaby 7 - 1 Wigstone Fields

Very enjoyable game of football today, weather was perfect.
Enjoyed a lot of the ball today and we were able to finish many times.
We should have had more but we proved to not be clinical with those oppertunities.

Loved playing LM today.

Fair play to Wigston Fields, they kep going and seem like a decent bunch of lads.

See you next season.

We've been pants for weeks and got exactly what we deserved. If i've ever seen a team of has beens, it was today!!!

Red admiral 2-2 white eagles

Andy driver
John willows

Eagles started the game with 9 men today for about the first 10 mins and we just couldn't capitilize on that. To be fair to eagles they set up well and restricted/frustrated us with those 9 we just couldn't seem to get a hold of the ball and I personally thought they were better with 9 as when there other lads turned up we seemed to get a foot hold in the game. We went in front thought some good play down the left Jezzo got a flick on to Hayden who put Andy through to open the scoring with a good finish. We were the better team and playing some good football and our defence restricted eagles to very few chances we should have gone 2 up with about 5 mins left of the first half we had about 3 shots all well saved by there keeper. With about 1-2 mins untill half time eagles broke there guy was offside but as the ball went through to our keeper the ref played on but what happened next was a massive mistake of keeper threw the ball out but didn't see the smallest lad on eagles side stood behind our smallest lad (and he is small) and he nicked in to make it 1-1 going into half time. The second half was pretty sloppy by both sides neither side created a chance of sorts and a change was needed on came willows who changed the game really gave us something different up top. With about 15 to go some good play down the right resulted in Jezzo whipping in a great ball and a great first touch by willows set him up to bury the ball into the net to make it 2-1 admiral. From the kick off we just wernt switched on and some great skill by there player literally took our whole team on to slot in the equilizer take nothing away from there lad it was a great individual goal but our defending was shocking should have got a challenge in. Even after that goal we still knew there would be another chance for us to score another and it very nearly came again some great play down the right resulted in the ball being put into the box and willows was onto it (if only he had a left foot) he had to get it onto his right which he did very well and got his shot away and there keeper pulled off a great save to deny him his second ad the ball rebounded out in came Jezzo but there defender put in a great last ditch challenge to deny him. All in all disappointed with the draw as I think we were the better team today and I think eagles couldn't really disagree with that they were lucky to get a point out of today we gifted them both goals. Two great games against them this season good bunch of lads apart from the to**er who kicked out at on of our players whilst he was in the floor should have walked in my opinion no need for that in football ok our lad reacted but wouldn't anyone!!! Cheers eagles all the best for the rest of the season.

game up viccy park today spoilt by wind,,players appealling for throws when the ball turned and didnt go out ....keepers struggling to get the ball to go where they wanted,,,

game played in good spirit,,both teams trying but game just went by with no incident untill a 5 min spell in second half when mjr took lead only to lose it again as quick,,,mjr frustrating monsell by trying to slow game down and have to say monsell got a little wound up with it,,but plugged away and got the resut in the end..

two teams with a little moaning no dissent and some banter,,,one min silence before game for hillsborough victims requested by monsell,,,,enjoyed the game even though in the words of monsell captain this is the most boring game i have played in

Oh and hellboy your favourite football lady on the sidelines

Drew 4-4 against leicester foxes.

First half played downhill with wind in our favour, but only took a 2-1 advantage to second half. Eventually went 4-2 down before nicking a last minute leveller, showed great spirit to come back against yet another team. Also nice to see a lot of lads back from injury. With three subs today, felt nice!

Yeah, I'd agree with most of that. First half we had the wind and really did start slowly, starting with 9 men (as the other 2 got lost in Gilmorton lol) and then players moved around when they came and we struggled to adapt back to shape. I remember pulling off the double save just before half time and within 30 seconds it's 1-1 at the other end! No way offside though, an absolutely ludicrous call by your linesman, your keeper took the goal kick short, our player tackles him and scores and your lino puts his flag up lol absolute mug!

I thought that in the second half we controlled the game, particularly as we were up against it in the wind, kept the ball really well for very long periods (maybe 20+ passes at a time?) and the only chances really that you had 2nd half were the goal and the last minute chance. We missed a couple of sitters in that time and were all over you for a 10+ minute period without scoring which was frustrating! Vinay's goal was completely outrageous, get's the ball from the kick off after you scored and ripped at least 6 of your players before scoring, pants down!!! Not quite sure what happened at the end with the little scuffle as I was at the other end of the pitch, but no excuses whatsoever for that behaviour.

Like playing your lads, great bunch of lads, clean games and played in the right spirit, all the best for the remainder of the season!

MDH 0-2 Prem Sport

An even game really, the wind played a massive part and both team were on top with the wind at there backs, we had the first half and created a few decent opportunities but didn't test the Keeper enough when well positioned, Prem had one chance of note in the first half when the full back shot over from close range. Second half was similar, few chances at either end until they caught us on the break when we were in a good position ourselves, they broke at pace and the striker hit a shot from the edge of the box that looked in all the way but bounced back of the post unfortunatley for us straight to his strike partner free on the edge of the 6 yard box for 0-1. The game continued in the same way, we pressed for an equaliser with a few half chances but again failed to work the keeper, they were particularly dangerous on the counter, we could of had a peno had our striker gone down but he stayed on his feet and shot well off target.... we were made to pay for that when with about 3 minutes left Prem broke and the lively striker that hit the post earlier was tripped in the box, no arguments from anyone was a stonewall pen and allowed them to put the game to bed. Overall a tight game, came down to Prem being more clinical than us on the day probably not a bad thing for us with a number of league games to squeeze in over the next few weeks we can concentrate on the title push with a few very difficult games coming up.

Congratulations to Fairfield on keeping the division 2 flag flying in the competition, good luck against Prem in the Semi final.

Fosse scorers Jamie Barnett & Nathan Williams.

we fully deserved the win
