no no team or goalkeeper should wear black or very dark shirts (Rule 9A), one of the reasons is that referees at this level are only allowed to wear black, and teams are not allowed to clash with them.

Anstey Hounds play in very dark blue. The ref didnt seem to mind yesterday. They have played in that kit all season. Just thought I'd mention it!!

have done dark blue and while it is close didnt cause a problem but think that bit is included in case it does cause a problem, easier to let refs wear a different colour

would i make anything up to fool you players,

rule 9a of alliance league rules states no team will wear black or dark colours

county directory page 218 says match officials will wear a plain shirt that shall be almost entirely black with a white collar,

law 4 of the laws of the game say that the two teams must wear colours that distinguish them from each other and also the referee and the assistant referees, and the same with the goalkeeper,,

so nothing made up,,,,and do you really think i look slim in black,,why thank you wally

Scouting mission was it??

We also have a dark blue kit that's used on a pretty regular basis. I suppose it's easier to stop teams wearing black than to ensure all refs have other kits available.

Was a tough game, they were far more organised than last time we played them, but still lacked a cutting edge. Good result! Very Happy

The League Rule is an FA Standard Code Rule which all junior leagues should have adopted.

We enquired of the FA as to why this was the case when refs in more senior Saturday Leagues can wear other than black. The answer was that in those cases, the League has to provide to each referee a range of shirts in different colours. We backed off at that one!
