Div 4 so far..... The Good? The Bad? and the Ugly?

Our first team are definitely ugly

We have managed all 3 so far this season!!! Today was very bad!

To sum it up so far, i think this league is going to be so close! its crazy how we lost convincingly to superfly who are a hard working group bt no real flash individuals, lost to desford which was a shocker cause we had chances at 2-0 to kill the game. I thort AFC Bees knees were probably the best side so far we've played and got away with a draw, but most surprisingly was how easily we beat west end today who a few ov um said we were much better than the "team to beat", NRI! who themselves have had convincing start, but do not think they will run away with it by the sounds of their ever growing injury list. I think Sparta Parva have been the suprise package after the pre season they had.

Looking forward to three weeks of cup games now

We were awful today, outfield player in goal and few others missing but no excuses for collapsing so badly when more than holding our own at 1-1 at half time. NRI are a good side who had a fair few missing against us. Both of you should be up there. We have a lot of soul searching to do as today we hit rock bottom.

i still dont think sparta were very goos against us!!! but denty said they were very impressive last wednesday!!

got niffy next week witch should show where we stand were playing some really good football at the moment and have a few players back now whick has made us stronger at the back!

have superfly singed alot of new players? didnt think they were that good last season and im looking forward to playing nri

We haven't got many new players if anything we've lost a few.
You have to remember that last season was our first season, although we did still put magna out a cup if I remember correctly.

We've started to play as a team, and as earlier stated by a phoenix lad we have no individual stars but play team football.

Our first team had an awful pre-season, wasn't looking good for us but we managed to sign enough lads on and a new manager has sorted them out. Surprised ourselves by winning the first 3 games though. Still too early to tell how we will do

Sounds a bit like us, we only had two pre season friendlies. One of which we only had 9 players.

i cannot say much abt our pre-season as i wasnt at the club at that time, we have started well and with the players we have now we should do well its just a case of getting us to gel which obviously will take time but when we do it should be all good, im very much looking forward to the rest of the season and hopefully pushing nri,phoenix,bakers,niffy, magna all the way till the end

yes you did put us out if the cup!! but the 2 league games u didnt play anywhere near that good!! but the 2 of the teams eho got promoted really rated your team sporting and fosse maybe we just cought you lot on a bad day

First off, cheers for calling us ‘The Team To Beat’….me thinks you overestimate!!!! We have had a good start, better than I had targeted.
To be honest, I think the team to beat is actually Niffy, they are looking very solid now and should have got something against us. Our injury list is pretty bad, but no excuses when we do get beaten, we have a squad of 20 and this is the reason for having such a big squad. Got faith in all of our players.
I would say The Good – has to be our start!! The Bad – our injury list. The Ugly – I agree with Tomassi….although our team picture does look special!!!
I am loving the fact that there are 5 or 6 teams looking like they will compete at the top, fair play to the league for getting it right. Oh and how the feck Phoenix beat West End 8-1 or whatever it was I do not know, I thought West End were useful.

to be fair to Phoenix, we watched them Friday night, and were 2-0 up till we arrived (apologises ) but they have a very young side and the Desford lads seemed to bully them a little. Surprised really, because there home pitch is very big and they are capable of knocking the ball round well.....but agree NRI wud have thought West End would have put up a bit more resistance...but think i read they had outfield player in goal!

Its a very specialist position is goalkeeper....one of the most difficult, requiring strong mentality, confidence, judgement , strength, agility, reflexes and many other qualities....

Does anyone know the rule on signing on players that play semi-pro? I have a couple of mates play for Hinckley Utd who have agreed to help us for a couple of games but i dont know if i can sign a contracted player on?

I hope not!! :-)

They have already said they cant play every week, but have agreed to help out this weekend and be on the books in case we struggle again.....

Hopefully they'll have contracted duties during our fixtures...'Hopefully' being the key word there!

New road inn, not sure if you are aware but I'm 100% sure only one those players is actually on hinckleys books at the moment so you could sign him up until hes on there books

the good. winning. the bad. getting kicked to bits every week. the ugly the pain the nxt day lol

Its ok mate, they are on a rolling contract so the rules dont actually apply...because the contract technically isnt a permenant one

Thank you very much! Just checked and you are right, he was injured pre season and hasnt signed on yet, he wants to get back to full fitness

Played Friday, up drinking till 6am, then up the next night till about 3am....ok, so its self inflicted, but man it hurt!
