How are those pre season predictions standing the test?

St Marks 4-2 Huncote

Absolute massive win today for us, Huncote missed a few early chances but went one nil up.

We went down to ten men just before half time but 2nd half was unbelievable, pulled one back went 2-1 down and then never gave up got a few late goals and there were scenes!

Huncote good bunch of lads who will do well, all the best to them.

Wigston Fields 0-9 Blaby United

Waste of a Sunday morning. They should be nowhere near this division. Going to ruin it for the rest of the teams. Moan a lot too despite winning and very dirty. Had one red card but should have had two more. Clearly they were the better team so can't moan about being beaten in this way. Just a shame they'll walk the league.

Congrats to the St Marks lads who just wanted it more than us. Wasted chances, throwing away two leads just isn't good enough from us. We're a much better team than we shown today. Small pitch as well which isn't always helpful towards us.

Fair enough we had a man sent off and he should have been and moan you would moan when a wigston fields player tries to stamp on your head! A team off who laid the boot in and couldnt take it when given back second half! As for being in the wrong div it maybe true but its the alliance who put us in 6!

There's a bit of a difference between intentially flying in studs showing and kicking out to what happened in the incident you're referring too. Our player didn't try to stamp on his head it was the way your player fell on the floor before our player landed and him being off balance when trying to land.

Oadby vs mowmacre our ref today needs sacking !
A example why players give ref greef didn't care one bit smelt of alcohol and was still pissed

And to top it off of all comments even oadby heard it he said ( I think the Lino is a cheating )

A ref calling a Lino a cheat shocking and I belive I heard he was being assessed unlucky to him

ok performance from the Oak. Like last week, i don't think the opposition would of denied us a point after our performancs.

Been impressed with the two referees before today's game. A little disappointed with todays seeming to be a homer and awarding a soft soft penalty

Exactly. They had won the game by that point being 9-0 up with about 20 minutes left but still feel the need to make ridiculous challenges. Was one of the worst I've seen in our 4 years as well. High with studs showing, just very lucky our player didn't have any serious injuries from it

We dont have superstars we are a team that can play football end of......and wigston the lad who got sent off has stud marks on his waist and the lads fell on the floor with his feet?

Make it sound like you plan on it being a regular occurrence of you 'just get on with it' and don't complain. Yea and one of our players could have had his leg broken, another was threatened to be knocked out, some one else has swelling from an early bad tackle. Need to control your players not encourage reckless tackling.

I dont encourage nothing you gave it and we gave it back no excuses for the sending off and yeah we just get on with it no crying about being suspended just bring someone in and go again lumps and bumps is part of sunday mornings so man the **** up!

Yea certain injuries are part and parcel of it which we accept but not the type of challenges saw today. And I think you'll find it was these types of challenges that initiated the hard tackles. Most of them were perfectly fine which we have no complaints about but there were too many which were reckless. But then again when one of the first big tackles of the game was studs showing we knew what type of game it would be unfortunately.

Excatly what are you complaining about then nobody has made excuses for the sending off....the ref did his job and he was good but i honestly think your covering up for a poor first half and came out second half got stuck in and got some back

I'm complaining about the amount of tackles which were reckless and studs showing. Not covering up anything, as I said at the beginning we were beat by the better team. But considering you were cruising, your players still felt the need to try and inflict injuries. Starting to rack up the cards already which proves the point of reckless tackling.

Blaby. ..... lets just hope you have "enough" so called "Superstars" signed on to fill your 11-14 players....... lads.... get your cameras out

Yes lads get your cameras out for when the goals fly in! Wigston one player get studs in the waist and he went on to give a stud showing tackle which is no excuse made sent off rightly so! Il look forward to your predicting next week.

Just want to reiterate again as to my disbelief of us being put into Division 2. Long and hard season for us.

As for the game, played in excellent spirit throughout and well reffed once again by Glenn Stewart, whom we had the pleasure of reffing us last weekend also.

One of their players told me that they would be comfortable in the Prem.

I guess ,depending on your ambition, it's more enjoyable to walk a league than compete for one.

Just warning them of what to expect

We played a very enjoyable game against Wigston Plough Rovers.

We were 2-0 after 15 minutes, and 3-0 down by half time.

A great team talk (I believe) by our coach, as well as some great substitutions seen us pull it back 3-1, then 3-2, then they went to 4-2 from a mistake by our centre back falling over the ball leaving their Centre Half 1 vs 1 with our keeper. We then got a third making it 4-3 and missed a penalty with a great save from their keeper. They then got their fifth and final goal with a great lob and we went all out to try and nick a point but only managed to get a goal which wasn't enough.

The spirit our lads shown to get us back in the game and nearly a point is something to be proud of, they absolutely destroyed us from set pieces, particularly throw ins.

Great team who will do very well this season, great refereeing and we look forward to the rematch.

(Now some of the forum members can stop referring to us as pot hunters, it's going to be a great battle in Division 5)

Trinderbox FC 3-1 Black Horse Rovers

Good win today in what was a fairly entertaining game played in a good spirit by both teams. Almost boiled over after a bit of an over-zealous, studs-up, high challenge on one of our players. Fair enough he got the ball first but that was a hairy moment, both teams moved on pretty quickly and tried to play football the right way and deserve credit and that was really the only incident in a pretty well contested game.

Some decent goals too, one 25 yarder flew into the bottom corner.

Good luck to them for the rest of the season, they were a decent side who I think can take points of others in the division.

Who did they ask? First I heard they finished 3rd in Division 7 and got promoted one division

Other teams that asked to be 'over promoted' got their wish, if the league were properly approached they and they asked for higher they would have got it.

Hard fought point for sporting birstall, scrappy game, with both teams struggling to get really going.
Both teams had chances to win the game second half, was impressed with spinner hill, a vastly improved team from last year and played some good football. Div 4 will be a close one this season, must say very impressed with Pukka pies results of late, going to be a interesting county cup game in 2 weeks.
