Glad the game went ahead today, battled really hard and had lots of chances, as did they. A red card for some unnecessary petulance gave us the impetus to really push on and nick a last minute equaliser to grab a point.
Oliver Watson, Luke Firth and Michael Peck got our goals today.

Best performance of the season, grinded through against a tough team. Vicky Park was in good nick, couldn't find the pitch in all the fog though. Top marks to the referee, Thomas Moule? (may have spelt it wrong) He had a very good game.

There was definite festive rustiness on show from both teams in a game that was battled out right to the end. It didn't feel like we really got going all day but managed to snatch a crucial win after Jack Hirst smashed in a long range free kick with only seconds of the game remaining.
It was brilliant to get the year off to a positive start and the hard work put in by everyone really paid off. A brace from Jack Hirst and a goal apiece from Harvey Jones and Ben Hirst gave us the win.

| NPE 6-2 United Revolution
Credit to both sides and the ref for getting the game on. We actually had virtually a full squad yesterday for the first time this season. United also seemed to have a good squad but had to make a few early changes. First half was close we scored 2 good goals, the second was a lovely strike only for united to reply straight away with a screamer which left out keeper with no chance. Went in 2-1 up at half time and going down hill second half helped, we scored 2 early goals which settled the game and eventually went onto win 6-2. Good to have a squad and get 3 subs on. The United lads were all great, one of the best bunch we have played, the guys on the side were also great and a couple of their lads came to the pub after. Good luck for the rest of the season we may see you boys in div 2 next year, if we stay up...

Thanks pal, We didn't perform yesterday, couldn't get the ball to stick up top and your wide players caused us problems all morning. Won't take anything away from you as you deserved your win but disappointing as it was probably the worst we have played all season in the second half. Normally more would come the pub for a drink than managed yesterday, just one of those weeks. Both our goals came from Jim Markley. Felt sorry for your defender as it was never a pen, great tackle but makes up for the other one 5 minutes before that was a trip. Swings and roundabout so no complaints from me. And if our season goes to plan we might well see you next year. Good luck in the next round.
