At last, the trinderbox steamtrain has been halted

Was starting to think trinderbox were some superhuman force sent to the bottom division to beat any young pretender that got in there way! Anyone go to the semi final yesterday? How exactly do you stop them?

We tried that. Twice.

First time, it was Nick Gomez and George Himan who ended up running the game (horrible wet evening game, brrr).

Second time around, the centre back (Lee) ran the show from the back!

It took a big effort from our boys to turn them over. Theyre obviously a team with alot of quality players and I have to admit that most of us turned up expecting to get beat, I thought we'd get hammered.

Apart from a long ranger in the 1st minute and obviously picking the ball out the net after the goal our keeper had relatively little to do. At the back, other than Lee Grant (who was by far the best defender I've come up against this season) they were pretty terrible. Easy to run at, easy to dispossess and easy to pass around, but Lee was making all the last ditch tackles. Without him they'd be screwed.

Gomez barely touched the ball, Samwell I was impressed with for the first 5 minutes til Deano got to grips with him. George has plenty of tricks but I dont think he managed to go past one of our defenders all game, build up slowed right down for them everytime he got the ball, the directness of Wayne was a bigger threat.

So to all the Division 5 teams who have still got to play Trinderbox, get amongst them, defend from the front and try to take the game to them, because they are more than vulnerable at the back! Do this and you've given yourself half a chance.

haven't they been in div 5 for some years?

they only got these players this season! All ex royal oak players. Good bunch of lads

It was a pretty physical game anyway to be honest, several bookings. More theyre management and fans being mardy arses thinking decisions were going against them!

we were 2-0 up against them in the league with 20mins to go... like jimmy said the people on the sideline were getting the arse when decisions were going against them. in the end we lost 4-2 due to lack of fitness on our behalf.

Ditto that (not the neighbours bit, obviously).

I reckon it was just a glich against CSKA on Sunday. You'd be foolish to think they are failing. Just look at the record. And whoever has taken them over has done a decent job. I remember they used to get whipped 10-0,9-1.....etc.
Hats off to them if they can do it.

I don't think anyone is suggesting the wheels are falling off
