| I regret to advise that I have just received, with immediate effect, the resignation of Magna 73 Rangers.
Their playing record in both the Premiership and the Arthur Moore Cup will be expunged in due course and the tables restated

That is a side issue. The format of the Arthur Moore Cup can be reviewed at the end of the season. It is not the primary cause for their resignation

| Gotta feel for moshdock after sundays game, same thing happened to us last year v prrin when we won 11nil then after the game they said they were folding! Prem league is tough, teams have got to realise that there never going to win every game, takes years to crack it at this level, advance and prem moshdock glenny are allways in the mix, we struggled in our 1st year but were happy to compete and stay up in the end, let's hope the prem league gets teams that want too give it there best win lose or draw | |

Completely agree with this and we share your view. From everyone at the Rabbits, we regret to see Magna go in spite of them beating us 5-2 on the opening day (and in all four games we played against them). Hopefully both Wigston Car Breakers and ourselves don't follow them.

| That's a real shame, and not just for our sake or our goal difference.
Magna are a long standing team and one that we have had many battles with over the years. A real shame.
The Prem down to 9 now then....hopefully it won't be anymore and become the farce it did last season.

Agreed but it seems to be endemic in local football. It is too easy for players to leave clubs and for clubs to resign. LSL is down to 5 in their Prem and HSL is down to 9 as is the Alliance. I believe the CSL are also at 9 but they do not have a website or Forum and so cannot be sure.

| It just puts into perspective what a great side Advance Couriers really are. To maintain that level of quality in the Prem for so many years and to consistantly put a good squad together when you consider the amount of reshuffling of squads and movements of players all over the divisions.
So many sides have tried to match them and there's isn't another side who have been able to compete with them consistantly and to keep a strong enough squad together to do so. They must be the reason so many teams have folded in the past.
Sundays are tough, a real ball ache at best and teams are constantly folding and reforming and players are moving around all the while. Advance must be one of the most succesful sunday league sides to have existed in Leicestershire alone.
I'd also mention Glenfield, Prem and GT in this, although not as well established as Advance, they always have a decent squad and compete well in the Prem each year despite not having the quality of the likes of Advance. All a testament to the league. If obly more sides were like that then we wouldnt have the shortfall in teams in the prem season on season. Hopefully the likes of Moshdock will also follow in those footsteps.

Yeah, you're right, Magna only tried for 15 years, you're all acting like Magna 73 were like Car Breakers, folded because they thought they could no longer win anything. In that time Magna played in the Prem for 7 years and in one of them seasons lost every game, they didn't fold then, they gave it everything. You are all critising one of the most loyal clubs in Leicestershire, who stuck at it when, and I'm certain on this, others would have given up and folded. The writing was on the wall at the end of last season and in hindsight they should have wrapped it then, but why pay the costs involved when players don't try, 4 players didn't show on Sunday without a word by all accounts, plus one by one they jumped ship to others without a care in the world. The critism of Magna is bang out of order, its kettle pot black because every team on this forum would have folded under the exact same circumstances. Coleman, I'd be pissed off as well but it is not the leagues fault that Magna have folded, blame the players who signed the orange form committing to the club and then didn't turn up and the ones who showed no loyalty and left to other clubs. You may have gathered that I have some feelings for that club, I have played there for 15 years and I am still involved with the club on a Saturday.

Don't know who you'd want but you would have to wait till they have cleared there debts with the league. - Quote :

It is irrelevant if has played or not (as Kajima found out at the start of the season). Any player Signed to Magna on date of folding will now be invoiced for their share of the debt (assuming the club hasn't got the finances to clear it). This is an equal share across every player. In order for a player to play again, they must clear the debt with the league, and then sign on in the normal way. I am almost certain the funds have to be cleared before he can play. Therefore you probably wont be able to sign him on the morning of a game / play him unless you have cleared the debt before hand.

You'll know the situation better than most Kev, i'm sure you still have close ties with the club / feel sad to see it go. Whats interesting, is I think officially, in the very unlikely case that the club does have any money left in the pot, this is supposed to be paid to the league to clear a proportion of the debt and then the remaining balance is split equally per player. What I always assume is what actually happens / should happen. Is those players who have been loyal and actually turned up, played and paid subs should be handed any surplus cash by the club individually towards clearing their proportion of the whole debt and therefore the other let downs subsequently suffer a greater penalty. I still think in an ideal world, any player signing for a club should pay a retention fee of say £10. If at the end of the season the club hasn't folded, you haven't transferred out, then you would hand them that money back (or put it towards a club p*** up). If the club does fold, you move, then that player loses the cash. I know the transfer thing is a contentious issue, but there is a club in the Alliance League that I am aware of, that if you wish to transfer out of, there club rules state you have to pay a fee. I challenged this, but as long as its in black and white in the club rules when you sign it is completely legitimate.

| Having spoken to the manager and the club, I know for a fact that each player signed on will have to be burdened with the £250 fine that Magna have now been hit with. Anyway for those that are interested, here is the updated Premiership table. | |

| i think if any player hasn't the courtesy to let a manager know he isn't available and just doesn't show he should be benched the next week (as long as you have another 11). there are too many timewasters and fair weather players around that leave clubs in a mess | |

Just one last thing does this now mean I am no longer cup tied from all cups or just the mentioned ones?
