1-fosse 2-humbo 3-???? What in the champions league final?? Are you up against fosse?if so I'd concentrate on the league! im sure we you in the stokes? and you were full strenth that day!!! The league would be way to much for us with the amount of games were going to have to play! possibly come 4th in the league depending on injures and our games against you fosse humbo and anstey we were at full strength but not full potential we were very poor that game but it is the only time we have lost to you in 5 games we thought we'd let u have the cup game we would rather try and escape the ramshackle div 4 and fridays outing was also a very average display from us with a re shuffled team! i know its a bit off topic but they should really stop slinging new teams into div 4 just look at how far div 4 teams got in the billy Walton this season atleast 4 teams in this div are well above the others standard we beat two Div 3 sides and a Div 1, only to come unstuck against scrappy and it was a similar story with a few teams! serious league restructuring needed!

Am not going to discuss Friday night, was a poor night from start to finish on many different counts, Sporting deservedly beat us, may have been different if we had scored penalty but we didnt deserve anything from the game- happy to see us go to a very good MDH side and beat them sunday though. Pies, have to agree with comments regarding the cups, both of us done well in the cup competitions which is going to stop us pushing the teams at the top of the league who have played a lot more games than us- no team is capable of playing sun, wed, fri, sun for two weeks straight without dropping unnecessary points! Also if a Division 6 is added, as per comments from Dennis then the Billy Walton could become very long, be like the F.A Cup having to start the competition on the first week of the season- taking into account weather conditions such as this year disreupitnig 5-6 weeks of unplayable conditions, and finisihing in the last week of the season

Other two subs were Kieran Rowley- played over half of games last year, and Leon Blaber who is the baby faced striker JimmyB politely refers to- all signed on before the we kicked off our first ever match for Magna you boys lost because you ran out of steam- simple as that!!- something admitted by Lodge!

| Is it possible to have a forum section dedicated to Div 4, perhaps only accessable by Div 4 players? Just a suggestion like | |

Interesting comment Pies. Most teams tend to undersell themselves when applying with a view to hunting them pots. What division did you ask for at your interview? If you had wanted to play higher up the league, you should have made your feelings clear then. However, if Sporting do finish in the top places and want promotion, make your feelings known to the committee.

| From my experience the differences between a lot of the Alliance Leagues is fairly marginal. Fitness is a bigger factor when you get up to Div 1 and then extra ability over and above the fitness in the Prem.
Bottom half of Div 2 down to top half of Div 5 is much of a muchness really with many of the teams inerchangable and able to beat each other on their day.
Taking Pies Sporting Wigston as an example, you've got a fair few players who have (and still can) played in the top divisions of the AL. Look at the ex Wigston Utd lads you've got who all played regular Div 2 and a few seasons in Div 1 and were a match for anyone, and yet you're kicking about in Div 4. This is not because Div 4 is too strong IMO but because the skill level throught the AL as a whole is fairly flat.
Earn your promotion and watch your team kick on. Look at us (Gutho), back to back promotions and mathematically still challenging for the title in Div 2 yet we largely have the same lads who we started our 2nd season of existence with.

Yes could go up but to be fair we had to sign these players!after we found out the hard way at the start of last season (our first)there were 5 new teams,2 relegated into 4 and 2 promoted! So 9 new teams in the div! Our first half of the season made us realise the standard was good especialy as u see sparta and great wigston romping it! A lot higher standard players need and like u say with us now having DIV players here the leagues top scorer and a lot of quality we are still only on par with about 5 teams in our league and teams like hood/bowden seeming way off the pace(although season not over yet) and niffy ressies who were seemingly average and finishing third last season (and a close third getting the escape route to more a settled division)

From division 1 to division 5, i've found that all teams have 7-8 players of a similar standard; the difference being that the remaining 3-4 players that make up a div 1 team are really good players and your 3-4 remaining players in a div 4-5 team are weaker. When teams have a couple of players missing, it's a level playing field. Imo, our Sporting team kicking around in midtable of division 4 is far better than the Wigston Utd team that finished third bottom in div 1 three years ago.
