| Too much early Christmas partying already - or does the festive season really start now, after your last Alliance fix for 2014?

| Birstall Rangers 11-1 United East Midlands
Rubbish first half for us at home against the wind but managed to go in at half time 3-1 up, second half ended up getting 3/4 goals in 5 minutes and went on to help our goal difference with a big win.
A bit of bitching between players all game but was spoilt at the end after their manager claimed we were racists which is far from true! Not sure if anything will come of it but was pure bitterness by the result and a shocking accusation to make!

Im sure there is now going to be a bout of requests to Stew from Referees wishing to do your games, £5 bonus could come in quite useful around this time of year. On a side note, it is the away team that has to pay the referee. This fee is cheaper than the resulting fine of a postponement. So its not really a case of wanting to decide. Plus there is the additional fact that why should the home team miss out on a game of football when they have already paid their fees for the cup? Its good to know that games you deem as worthless are not worth playing, that probably applies to the majority of Sunday morning games. I think you massively overlook the fact, that for some teams its not always about the winning. There are other reasons people play. If (in the very unlikely scenario) Mowmacre have nothing to play for on the last games of the season would you not play?

Is this really banter, Webmanager? But your point is well made. This is the difference between playing for the enjoyment and playing to win - Thank goodness almost all teams play for the fun and see having a good run as a bonus. If our top poster, Mowmacre were right, half the teams would have finished by now.

| My view on that, which is open and honest, is the club made the wrong decision & was disciplined accordingly.
I believe there where many individuals within the club that didn't agree with the mamagements decision. But as with most clubs, it takes a number of volunteers to make any club survive. Sometimes, they don't always make the decisions players agree with, but at the end of the day you have to stand by them else there would be no club.
Let me take the chance to wish you and the fellow forum users a Merry Christmas
