Squad sizes

A few people have commented on our squad size of late and I think ours is around the 34 mark from memory

Just wondered how big everyone else's squads are?? And what do you find from your experience is the best size squad to have

Actually think ours is 36 haha

our main playing squad is around 18, probably 3/4 of those have suffered long term injuries this season so been out between 2 and 5 months, the other 14 are pretty reliable for turning up and we have maybe half a dozen signed extra to call upon in emergencies (former players and friends of players who don't usually play Sundays).

I think if our squad got much bigger it would be difficult to keep people happy, already hard enough for the manager and as long as people are turning up theres usually plenty of options. The consistency and familiarity of players has helped us this season to so far be in a strong position, and everyones pretty close mates on and off the pitch

To be fair of our 36 5 can longer play because of other commitments and about 10 have yet to make an appearance but are registered just incase! Core squad is about 21

I'm sure we at FC Pochin have about 40 players signed on this season but have actually still played a couple of games with the bare 11!

Last year (as Azul Zorro's) I understand there was 54 signed on!!

We have used 22 players this season.

15 of those have appeared in more than half a dozen fixtures each.

10 players have appeared in at least 15 of our 17 fixtures.

Its not the size that's important its what u do with it

Think we've 24 signed on! Had a good core of 18 most weeks which has been pretty tough on the players that have missed out! We've tried to get everyone involved and plenty matches still to go!
We used to sign just about anyone and everyone to keep us going through the "dark years"! But last two seasons we've made a point of trying to get signing on cash before signature on the book

We have 15 signed on that are available regularly (although we have had 4 subs on only one occasion).

3 recent signings to boost the squad size & provide a bit of back up if we miss a few then 2 other lads signed on at the beginning of the season but haven't played all season.

A small squad certainly has its advantages, but occasionally can see you a little short on Sunday morning's - however we've managed pretty well.

Think we thurmaston between the 2 sides is 70,

We have twenty seven of which we have only been able to field the same team twice
which probably accounts for our inconsistency and not having a regular keeper as ours been
out 7 months due to injury.
Work committments never helped either.

After yesterday's dealings we now have a squad of 30

We have a core of 16 lads, with one extra who signed around Christmas but comes now and again lol. 16 has worked well for us, been a close call on numbers a few weeks and not had more than one sub a few of times but on a whole it has kept everyone happy because they seem to get a fair amount of playing time. Been quite lucky with injuries (touch wood) no major or long terms yet and no bans or suspensions. Wilksy has limited a couple of lads to bench as not paid subs etc which is only fair....
