Leicester Sunday Football League

I have been made aware of a rumour doing the rounds that there will not be a Leicester Sunday Football League next season.

Having liaised with the Leicester Sunday Football League I want to make it clear that this rumour is completely false and without foundation.

The Alliance Football League believes that there is a rightful place for a number of Sunday Leagues in Leicestershire and Rutland and that healthy competition and choice is good for the advancement of Sunday football.

Whilst we acknowledge the variance in size of membership of the County Sunday Leagues we believe that, between us we can all provide football for players of differing standards and capabilities wherever they are located in the County.

Surprising to be honest, I think everyone assumed they were folding. Glad to hear they are to continue or we would end up with 10 divisions.

The Alliance League has already received disciplinary action from County for a Forum user making a similar comment about another league in the past.
