Groby Town 2 - 1 Wigston Fields

Goal Scorer: Stef Kuzyk

A slow game which Groby edged. They looked dangerous on the attack and had a lot of space and made us pay. After last weeks poor performance there was a shake up and the boys but in a lot of effort and worked hard. Jay bray had the ball in the back of the with a great lob but his run was just offside. Groby went ahead when a through ball was blasted into the top corner emphatically. Was a good finish but not the best marking. Groby looked dangerous from corners and well and had a few chances but only 1-0 down at half time. Second half Groby doubled their advantage when a low ball was tapped in 5 yards out. We kept battling and Stef Kuzyk came off the bench to follow up a callum Marvin freekick and back-heeled it into the net. We had a second wind and almost capitalised when a ball was played across the box but came off out strikers knee and pinged over. Good effort and work rate by the players and well played to Groby.

CSKA Carnabys Reserves 3 FC City Of Leicester 4

We at to start the game with 9 men due to a few of our players getting stuck in traffic/lost and had to do with a inexperience keeper. We some how took a 1-0 lead a minute into the game. When we finally got all 11 players on the pitch we played terrible. CSKA went in half time with a 3-1 lead.
Second half we brought on a couple of subs who both scored, we dominated and pressed CSKA from the start. Got it back to 3-3 and scored a penalty to make it 4-3 with about 15mins to go. Thankfully we managed not to slip up. CSKA good bunch of lads and have some big players who would fit right into the WWE no danger. From speaking to one of there lads he said that 8 first team players were part of there squad today because they didn't have a game. I must say we was a bit annoyed by this considering the reserves have bin struggling recently and other teams in our div didn't have to play several first team players. Overall a good result and we worked hard. Oh the ref had a very good game, was young blonde lad and was consistent through out the game and was always using his initiative.

There might have been 8 first teamers there in total, but they were in jeans and trainers watching. We had a striker and right winger that were first teamers that started. Wouldn't bring in loads, would be pointless for us in the long run.
N
We should have punished you first half sadly and it cost us, seems after last week and this you're 2nd half specialists!! Put us under lots more pressure and we were a bit flatter.

I was told by one of your players that 8 first team players were involved in the game, don't shoot the messenger. To be honest I don't understand why teams bring in first team players it must give the other lads loads of confidence. I agree you was superior first half and should of scored at least two more. We seem to be specialists at giving away leads also.

Don't know whether they were on the wind up or just being thick. Both equally likely!! A couple of other guys have played for both teams. But they are 2nd teamers who've been called up to firsts on occasion.

Plough 7-2 blaby.

Another game off two halves for the plough started well and played some nice football blaby gifted us 2 goal lead in first ten but still lads had to be in positions went in half time 5-1. Second half went to bit off a shambles and decided to play a 6-0-4 formation blaby was prob better team second half and if had regular keeper would have been much closer. To be honest was quite even game. Two super goals from Andy lap worth and our 7 th was highlights off game.

Another abysmal performance from us, there are a couple of areas we are lacking but we would certainly benefit from an experienced keeper. Just isnt happening for us this season. Completely outplayed first half and even though we played better in the second, we just couldnt finish our chances. Few tackles from both teams but nothing really serious. Great spirit from both teams though, nice clean game. i agree, andys 2 goals were very nice but didnt help when we let in such silly goals.
See you at home.

Frolesworth 4-1 A.F.C Royal Oak

Scorer
Danny Frost

Matched a prem team for an hour and with the players we were missing we did a great job. Our lads were a little down beat after the game but we lost to a prem team today and there was nothing to be ashamed of today. Our lads put in a lot of graft today which was to be expected from a team that bottled the prem.

Was not happy with the man in the middle who had a very iffy 60 minutes and was just not consistent enough with too many decisions. Just my opinion but we was up against it as it was with a team that that should not even be in this competition but to battle with inconsistencies made it even harder.

First ten mins we were out the traps and pressured frolesworth high up the pitch, something which they didnt look used to. But frolesworth quality began to show amd by half time they were 1-0 up. We had a great chance through Lovey to make it 1-1 but it was just a couple of inches out his reach.

Half time chat and we were not out of it at all and came out with a few alterations. But as we pressed frolesworth were so quick on the counter that it was soon 2-0 around the 60 min mark. Our heads dropped but we kept pushing and managed to get a consolation in the end through veteran Danny Frost.

Fair play o frolesworth who showed their quality but they shouldnt even be in this competition. Played Fairfield last season and between the two games Frolesworth were by far a better team. Lets just hope they dont bottle it next year when their back where they belong.

Just a quick mention to Glenfield United who had a superb win, their first in the Alliance this season versus high flying Ennes. Wasnt quite sure id read the result right but fair play to them. Good bunch there!

Just like to say they have been the best team we have played this year. As stand in manger today iI got to see a lot from the side and we got outclassed. Monsell to won div 7 for me.

Just on one note their linesman got found out to be a cheat today espically when their keeper says he does it everyweek. Other than that a very strong team all round. All the best for the next round

In our six years of playing in the Alliance League, never have we come across a team that are so bitter after having lost a game.

Firstly, we did not 'bottle the Prem' as you put it. In fact, we lost 12 games in a row, managed to record just three points and were relegated. The players we signed on this year have all previously played for the club, with the exception of Barnes Gladman.

We also owed the league up to £600, lost our ground and our sponsor but we managed to turn round £1,000, acquire Kimcote Road and a new sponsor in the Shambles during the summer.

Secondly with regards to the referee, who I shall not mention, he was exceptionally lenient to allow two of your players to stay on the pitch after you attempted to kick us off the park throughout the entire contest.

Thirdly, why should we not be entitled to play in this competition? We are a Division Two club and are at the lowest ebb in our history. Is it not that you thought you could win this competition and are bitter at having lost to a better team this morning, without their two goalkeepers and top goalscorer through suspension?

You boast a 100 per cent record in Division Four, so are you not playing below the standard you should be, too?

And finally, in regards to your audacious and frankly false claims of 'racist chanting' from the home fans made on Twitter, we believe this statement to be defamatory and strongly refute your allegations.

Best of luck for the rest of the season.

Fairfield 5 WPR 3 - the score line doesn't tell the story!

WPR went 2 - 0 down by conceding two Peno's in 5 mins in what was a poor first half from WPR, we came out fighting in the second half, a goal from Matty Thomas started us on our way with an equalizer coming in the last 5 mins. Going into extra time 5 mins in and we had a player sent off, so played 25 mins with 10 men, credit to Fairfield they piled on the pressure and scored in the first half of ET, they then gave us the sucker blow in the 2nd half of ET giving them a 4 - 2 lead. WPR came back again with 10 men and scored to take it to 4 - 3, Fairfield's keeper then made a world class save to stop WPR from equalising. as WPR pushed to take it to penos, Fairfield then went down the other end a scored a very good goal. despite losing, credit to my players, we had 6 first teamers out and only able to field a patched up team. Time to focus on the our league position.

Mivan - 0 Pochin - 4

We were down to bare bones this week and up against a very good and in form Pochin side so we knew it was going to be hard from the start. Pochin dominatred from the first minute to the last and we worthy winners on the day. In actual fact i thought we defended quite well to keep the score down to 4. We had a clear cut chance at 1-0 but it went just wide of the post, maybe that could of changed the game. At the end of the day though the lads put everything into it and knew we were up against a far superior side. With a full team we could of made it more of a game.

Pochin were a lot better than when we played them last year. They had a small lad in centre mid who ran the show for them and was impressive. Good bunch of lads though and all the best for the season. We have been really unlucky so far with injuries & decisions and just are not getting the rub of the green at the moment. But thats football.

Inter Mivan 0 v 4 FC Pochin (Stokes Cup)

Chris Durrance 2
Kyle Winston
Ricardo Gomez

A relatively comfortable win for us yesterday whilst again not really being at our best.

Happy to have progressed past a potentially tricky tie and a good team who beat us in the cup last year.

Sound bunch of lads at Mivan, thought the lad up front was a very decent player so happy to have kept another clean sheet - all the best for the rest of the season

This was an enjoyable game. Global keeper was unstoppable, although I'd say it fair that Niffy had the chances, the finishing goes to Global who made no mistake when they had the chance. Although there seemed a more refreshing approach by Niffy a bit of pace up top is still missing, Kylinho maybe???
