In all seriousness, this could put us right in the pooh with regards to player and pitch availability etc. Never mind wanting to win anything. Because of the crappy weather, there are so many sides in our division that we have not played yet. Is there no scope for us to play them once for six points this season. As a club, we would be willing to play them all away if needed and half the costs with our opponents. I know it's crap but I am truly worried about being able to field a team for '8' evening games.

- Nope maninblack,..correct piemaster, if the snow hadnt arrived we were planning on playing today following a pitch inspection with the referee.
We've done it before at Linwood this season, and next season it wont be owned by council WHY WHATS HAPPENING WITH IT ?

- remember my theory that its not because the pitch is unplayable, but because of the work that has to go into repairing it after the game, and also in their favour they cant get on and mark pitches with snow on them
The council dont do anything to repair the pitches when used regardless of the weather, its only people like Bob Stretton who works on pitches during the week to help get them fit for the following weeks games. The council does naff all for Sunday football that I know of and then stick their noses in to call the games off when if left till the Sunday morning for the referee to decide their would probably have been more games played than what there has been so far..!
Rant over,... BOB STRETTON IS ONLY THE GROUNDMAN,THE COUNCIL OWN THE PITCHES. Duh,...I know that, thats not the point! bOB STRETTON WORKS FOR THE COUNCIL, SO THEREFORE IT IS THE COUNCIL THAT MAINTAIN IT Incorrect my dear friend, Bob Stretton is a retired policeman and does what he does without payment from the council. He is there to monitor and maintain the pitches at Linwood/Aylestone Park through an agreement with the council as a volunteer, with no cash incentive whatsoever...if was a council employee you wouldnt see him up there marking out pitches and forking puddles on Sunday mornings without 2/3 other council staff leaning on shovels watching,..!! I'll give you his number if you want to ring and check with him

| I think we should steer away from comments that are in danger of becoming too personal.
From the Alliance point of view, Bob has been a good friend of ours and he has done an enormous amount of good for local football generally.
