With great regret Hood Park Rangers PLC has ceased trading.

Unfortunately being bombarded with fines and being subject to the "Dee-Gate" scandal the board had no choice but to take the club into administration, the recievers took the last of the kits today to auction off at the Measham outdoor car boot sale.

Thanks for all the support during the troubled times we endured last season. We were committed in completing the season and not let our fellow Division 6 opposition down.

But don't worry, another bunch of whipping boys have entered the league, Global Athletic F.C, this team boasts HPR reserves and fringe players, fill your boots! Only joking, good luck lads! Wink

Thanks Again to all and good luck everyone for the new season!

Well done for sticking the season out and not taking the easy option of folding up, it's a shame that a team who do that get whacked with fine after fine from the league for actually helping the league out by fulfilling their fixtures and not wrapping up.

Fair play to HPR, they saw the season out,got on with it, accepted the fines they were given without "bitching" and blaming everyone else! They are a sound bunch of lads.

I agree with all of the sentiments expressed in favour of Hood Park who did well to finish the season.

As far as the fines and support from the League is concerned, there are two sides to every story.

they actually help other teams out if they fulfill their fixtures rather than the league if you look at it logically

Two sides normally means a 2 sided coin with heads on both sides in the leagues favour when it comes to sympathy and fines, the leagues back pocket always wins.

There's three sides to every story, yours, theirs, the truth.

'Unfortunately being bombarded with fines and being subject to the "Dee-Gate" scandal the board had no choice but to take the club into administration'

Bombarded with fines? - let's have a closer look then at the reasons

2 fines for not bothering to send ANYBODY to either of 2 League General meetings, before the season had even started.

2 fines for playing Unregistered Players - or as the forum would say - ringers

1 fine for postponing a home game, a few minutes beore kick off with the opponents and referee ready to start.

3 fines for not fielding a complete team - blame 'Dee - Gate' ? Maybe. Did the League take the decision to place Dee with Hood Park Rangers? - No. Did the League take the decision to remove Dee from Hood Park Rangers - No Did the League apply it's own members rules - Yes

Could the fines have been avoided?

From a struggling division 6 team , I think the league needs to relook at how it implements its rules to generate revenue - they seem quite Draconian rules and regulations , on what is in essence only sunday league - afterall its not the premier league is it ?... and if it were I might well be tempted to take out a super injunction against Gordon for his rant !.. : )

From out point of view it would have been more helpful if the league did the following :

1) Had some discretion in its rules . Fining teams for not having a full 11 or not supplying a linesman could be looked at individually and circumstantially . A pointless appeals process never really gets any decisions overturned. Credit should be given for getting the games to go ahead .

2) Fining the club for not given enough notice of our intention to withdraw even though we had no idea if we were going to continue or not seems a bit unfair.

3) Lets me honest "ringers" or the rules "being bent " happens all the time in the alliance league , its just that some teams are better at covering their tracks than we are. The players who were "unregistered " were hood park players and not ringers . Their registrations were not received by the league - a clerical error we explained.

4) Fines can never be avoided - their as certain as death and taxes.

it comes back to the point of rules. If the majority of clubs can abide by rules and avoid fines then everyone else can. It comes down to how well run a club is. The rules are in black and white and very open for everyone to read in the handbook each season, they aren't made up as the season goes along.

There is a rule amendment going to the A G M which puts the last date for resignation back by a month, which will make it later than some other leagues.

Not only that, our fine is in a sliding scale - the later the resignation the greater the fine - again some other Leagues fine the full £250 for being 1 day late.

Fines can easily be avoided there are many clubs who do not get a fine year after year,i think it's because the Alliance League has these rules it is the best sunday league in the county,i hope your telling the truth in your posts now because if your not Gordon may have to tell the truth for you Very Happy
