Oadby Owls Mens v Saffron Lounge Bar - TONIGHT 18:30 Judgemeadow College. Championship Decider!!!

For those of you that would rather watch a local game rather than a Champions League match, Oadby Owls Mens are playing Saffron Lounge Bar tonight in what is pretty much the decider of who wins Division 5 this year.

It would be great to see loads of familiar faces at the game tonight and I am sure the teams can have a drink together after the game regardless of the result.

Proper refs and linesmen (so no blatant cheating)...

Kick off is 18:30 and the venue is Judgemeadow college..

with all due respect to Azul Zorros, was an amazing won over Oadby on Sunday considering they had lost their last 4. Granted Saff Lounge lost as well, but Birstall are a strong side. I have a sneaking suspicion that Saff might just have a bit too much in the locker for Oadby. Just don't think they will lose tonight.

we had 7000000000000000000000000000000 chances on Sunday but just didnt put them away... Saff have conceded about 15 in last 3. Its doable... And hopefully tonight we will DOOOOO IT!!

There is a statistic in the OOFC camp... When Roy plays they concede less and score more (its actually a fact)... Lets just hope they wheel me out tonight (scored against saff last time) We are ready

I agree oadby had a lot of chances to get back into the game on Sunday but i think credit where credits due our lads showed were no pushovers. i think over the games weve played against the two sides lounge bar will edge it, but I agree Birstall have to still be considered, they are a side who can play football, but can win ugly aswell and sometimes that can be the difference.

Ball was played backwards to me, therefore I was behind play. Also had to run past a defender to get to the ball, therefore there was a player in front of me.

Great game for us today!! Defence played brilliant!!! Manager played a 4-5-1 which put me on the bench but it worked well!!! Up the lounge bar

just i thought i would add a comment to the carnabys boys, yep fairplay you got a lucky point off us after you were 3-0 up against us, you were saying the ball was played backwards to you, thats fair enough to, but have you ever thought that the boy who played it back to you was the boy who was offside in the 1st place, dont want to argue with you because we outplayed you twice, i would just like to add though that i owe you a pint when i see you, your 1st post saved me wasting my breath on a team talk, so i thankyou very much for that, i cant believe you thought oadby were a better footballing side than us, we played them off the park 2 weeks ago but they got a 2-2, today they played long ball to try and be different, that played into our hands and we won 2-0, they had 1 shot in 90 minutes which to be fair could have m,ade it 1-1, i like oadby and if they stick together can become a very good side, and thats not me taking things for granted because i know that with the 3 games in 5 days that we had, oadby and mdh had to be beat, birstall wasnt as important, thankfully for us that was the sunday game and birstall apart from the c1st 10 minutes absolutely battered us and to be fair they should have won by more, efc will cause us problems on sunday so i hope mdh and oadby draw so that if we mess it up then birstall win it because noone has mentioned them this season and they are a great set of lads who adapt to different games very well

pal, it is not difficult to get a double over CSKA, your team are awful. granted you got a 3 all draw against us (Saff Lounge) atr our place but you went 3 nil up after 30 mins and as soon as we decided we wanted to get back in the game, that is exactly what we did.

And when we played you away, we played you in our pants mate. you lost to a set of lads playing in Y-fronts. Do you understand how degrading that is? Trust me mate if I lost to a team of p*** heads wearing boxer shorts I woul-d retire from the game. You lot were kitted up 9 hours before kick off in your nike kits and track suits why we were still s******g and covorting in SophBeck. Then we came and took the 3 points on your own patch.

We're a Saff side, we are better than you, but you put in probably 10 times the effort we do off the pitch... unfortunately on the pitch you can't match us.

And without doubt you are the biggest team of rejects I have ever came accross in my life. You're a collection of strange boys who got bullied at school and could never get in the first team but have realised that as adults you can come together and make a shitty division 5 side that can't even challenge for hounours.

I'm starting to feel sorry for you know because my rant is a bit too venemous - so I'll leave it there but its your fault for calling the Saff "that lot" - u mug.

I used to like Sophbecks when it was Nomad....anyone remember Weavers Nightclub just down from it?? Ahhhh happy days, clubbing till 2 or 3 in the morning before the days of all day boozing....a happier time...then on to a houseparty till the pubs opened next day - it would kill me now!!!

Having lost to Saffron Lounge Bar 2 – 0 on Wednesday evening, their manager, Tommy Gilroy, decided to e-mail my 19 year old son the following at 2.30 a.m. in the morning.

“make sure you tell your mates you are a liar after telling them you are the best footballing side in division 5 by far, and next time you say things like that make sure you have seen all the opposition because lets face it we destroyd you twice, your long ball game at your poor ground would never work against a team like us “ – Tommy Gilroy, April 28 at 2:34am

Not only did we have to contend with their supporters pissing on the goal post and throwing their empty beer bottles in the back of the net prior to the match, we have to put up with silly immature comments like the above from a manager who certainly looks old enough to know better.
My message to him is GROW UP, ACT YOUR AGE and who knows, your players and supporters may show a little more respect and grace also.
We are a young side who try to play good football, we don’t complain when things don’t work out or even when the league make us play such crucial matches as last night in mid-week when we do not have all our players due to work commitments.
As for Saff being a better side than us, I would not swap a shoe lace from any of my players for one of theirs with the exception of Craig, their tall centre forward who worked endlessly trying to get on the end of high balls from a tiring midfield.
Having watched Saffron play against MDH last Friday with some of my players we were surprised to see WARREN BUTLIN in goal for Saffron. Having such a poor defensive record you would have thought that they would have played such a good keeper as WARREN BUTLIN in every match - Just a thought !!!!!!
Finally, I would like to thank the Alliance League committee and all the good honest teams such MDH, Spart Parva Res, CSKA, EFC, and many more we have played this season for making it an enjoyable first season for us.

Saff Lounge certainly lack a lot of professionalism, and not very gracious winners. Seems they are more bothered about being known as "lads" than they are about playing football.
We've never had any bother from any team in the Alliance League, yet when we play Saffron twice this season, we hear them use the phrase "lets show em some Saffron justice" before diving in with two footed challenges.
And then next time they play us, one of their guys headbutts one of our lads and one punches the same player. Meanwhile on the sides, they got someone who just sticks his flag up everytime a player ventures forward in the hope that the ref will buy it.
I must admit, it is a good way of ensuring you get into the promotion race, but they certainly haven't gained any respect in the Alliance this season that's for sure.

Teams like that will get found out in Div4, whereas good young footballing sides like Oadby Owls will push on and progress further and further.

At the end of the day, they're not THAT good to be gloating as they do, we woulda beat them at home if it wasn't for their linesman (which the ref reported - and I believe that was the reason why they assigned linesmen to your game last night), and they scraped a draw against us after being 0-3 down.

Sick of chavs ruining the beautiful game for the rest of us!
