There has been a spate of clubs today not confirming their results or goalscorers on time - some have arrived very late, and others not at all.

The fine in these circumstances is £10, and it is surely hard enough for clubs to finance their seasons without racking up unnecessary fines. There also seems to be a noticable pattern in clubs ringing / texting in late when their is a big Sky game on TV, but rarely do these games start very early - Liverpool v Man U kicked off at 1.30pm - and our clubs will have finished playing well before then. Coincidentally (or not?) some results came in shortly after the Sky game had finished.

Just a reminder to clubs in Divisions 2,3,5 and 6 - that the deadline for press reports is 3pm. This enables us to update the website and pass information on to the Mercury and we work hard to achieve deadlines. The league do not like giving out fines despite some comments on here from time to time! With the Premiership season reaching the vital point of the season, there are bound to be many more massive games coming up over the next month, and it is worth issuing this reminder in light of that.

It is quite workable if clubs want to ring through an early voicemail or leave a text as soon as their game has finished? It may save you some hard earned money!
