| Had my post removed because the league say they havent had it confirmed that western are folding but it is happening. Everyone has a right to know whats going on and this forum is supposed to be the place to do it. People enjoy discussing and having there own opinions on what goes on and as long as it isn't abusive towards people why remove it. Are you embarrased at the fact another team wants to leave the alliance league! If they haven't got a big enough squad or the players don't want to play unless they are winning every week then folding is the only option. LET PEOPLE HAVE THERE SAY! | |

| Maybe its because it creates a lot of extra issues for the league who have people chasing them to find out whats happening, also creates 'panic' amongst people and its also unfair on the club if its not happening.... As the Sec of a club that had accusations thrown at it at the beginning of the season, i can assure you its not pleasant... If it does turn out to be true i am sure WEUR or someone else will inform us on here. Why dont you phone the club sec and ask him direct? Just a thought, and then it will give you the answer you are after? |

| Its Western Athletic we're talking about 100% true they are definitely wrapping up. There manager has told Gordon so don't expect them to play anymore games. Great news for us because we now have a top quality striker which we have needed for a while now and hope to have with us Sunday. Other players joining Glenfield Town. Never nice to see a team fold but the writing has been on the wall for a while. | |

| The earlier posts were removed as the League had not been notified. Whilst we had been kept informed of developments, we were always hopeful that the position could be resolved. With the passage of time, this sadly is not the case, and the League has now been notified in the proper manner. -------------------------------------------------------------------------------- I regret to advise you that Western Athletic have resigned with immediate effect.
Their playing recored will be removed from D2 and the table will be updated in due course.
All of the registered players will remain members of the club until the financial liabilities of the club have been discharged, either by the club or individually when the position is clarified.
They are not yet clear to register with or transfer to another Alliance Club.

Does that mean we will be refunded the red and yellow card in our game against Western as well??

| No mate we asked that question when Exeter arms folded and was told that even though the result is expunged the yellows and reds still count.
I found it a bit strange but there the rules apparently. |

| It is only the results which are expunged to ensure that the remaining teams play an equal number of games, and play each other twice.
The fact that a game was played and costs incurred cannot be reversed - whether it be pitch fees, referee fees, discipline costs. etc etc.

| We havent nicked the striker he is a mate of our players and he decided to join. I never like to see teams fold but i don't see the harm in signing a player on mid season if his old club doesn't exist. All the other players will be playing for other teams so will you say those teams are nicking players as well! | |

| Yeah Mitch will score plenty of goals for us because we create plenty of chances but not been putting them away. Next season will be a good chance of picking up a trophy with Mitch up front but that doesnt mean we want any of the other pot hunters signing on for us we're not that kind of team. Im sure there will be a new team start up next season with the same old players on the same pitch in a lower division like in previous years.

Your post was removed because a resignation had not been received at that time from Western Athletic and it is not helpful for struggling clubs to have rumours being spread which do not help their cause. This Forum belongs to the Alliance League and we have a duty to support our member clubs. Incidentally there have been no other resignations from this League since the start of the season. This is the place to have your say but there has to be some restrictions for the benefit of all concerned.

| Here here
Managers should be wary of taking best mates on as team players, it only takes one of these tw8ts to decide they are leaving and their mates soon follow suit ...like sheep. These lads just join up together and as soon as one goes off, you can be sure they will take their friends with them. seen it loads of times and even their mummies and daddies follow them around to another team, still holding the bottle for them, but this time its orange instead of milk. They decide to not bother and then the rest follow, and surprise surprise they've all turned up together, holding hands, to play for a new team. beware of these sort as they can kill a team off and the people who suffer are the managers and staff who do all the hard work and raise funds, book pitches and admin etc. etc.

| That seems to have been the problem at Western. They had a team of mates playing a couple of seasons ago who enjoyed playing for the manager but then slowly players started signing on who only cared about winning a trophy and not about playing for there mates. The manager slowly lost control and players started doing what they wanted and the reliable original lads left. As soon as it became obvious there was no chance of winning anything players left to hunt for trophies elsewhere and left Western short of players resulting in the collapse of the club. It is a shame a good solid team has gone under but if it was ran by someone a bit stronger i think the club could have run for several years to come. | |

| I know a lot more than you think about what happened inside your club. I was the first to announce the team had folded, that should tell you something. Do you feel responsible for what has happened. Do you think you should have been stronger with team selections instead of the players telling you who to play. That will never happen at our club we respect our manager. Something that must have been lacking at your club. But respect has to be earned. | |

As for your question widds I shall be taking in some games around the leagues and divisions along with playing some golf with no intentions of getting involved with anymore clubs at this time. |
