| I would need to refer the no-show to the Referees Secretary to get an idea of what happened.
Certainly the away side will not be penalised as the requirement (Rule 10 (D)) is for the home club Secretary to confirm the fixture with the opponents and the referee.

| The League has got to accept responsibility for failing to appoint a referee on this occasion. It was a rescheduled game which was not in the original fixture booklet, and a breakdown in effective communication led to the situation.
Sincere apologies to both teams concerned.
Without wishing to deflect blame and criticism, perhaps the Home club should have realised in the days prior to the game that they had not been advised of the referee appointment and could therefore not carry out the required notification. This may have triggered a call to the Referees Secretary.
