Webbys2 moshdock 3
Poor performance by us against a good most dock we've lost all our players side.
Done well to get back from 2 down only to lose it 2 to go ref gave us nothing and
Our keeper got smashed for their second poor decision.
But got to take in account 2divisions difference last year and we competed so happy with that

Webbys 2-3 SPARTA MOSHDOCK

Steve Morley
James Browne
Ryan Dawkins

Started well today, playing some good stuff and not really looking troubled. When 2-0 up and could have been ahead by a couple more. Fair play to Webbys, they dug deep and never stopped. They nicked one just before half time to make it 2-1 at the break.

Second half and we didn't really get started. Again, fair play to Webbys, they showed some real fight and determination and got the rewards when they nicked the equaliser on about 75minutes.

However, we didn't give up and pushed for the winner and just as the game was going into injury time, Ryan Dawkins got the winner when the Webbys defence failed to deal with a set piece.

Just to point out, we're not going to get involved in silly little comments that Oily feels the need to make (see above)...it's a little bit childish to be honest.

Well done to the players of Webbys, great attitude throughout. Good luck for the rest of the season lads.

Niffy 4-2 United Revolution

Won't rant too much (did some of that at half time)
All round from us not good enough. Werent help by the drop out of our forward players, leaving us lacking pace up top

Had to change things two or three times during the game to try and stay competitive

Niffy were excellent from start to finish, although we tried to play some good football we never got out of first gear, credit to niffy for not letting us play.

Good luck to Niffy for the rest of the season.....lets hope we get out of bed next week

Leicester Foxes 3 CPR 0

Only showed up with 10 players and worked very hard against a good side in Leicester Foxes, in the end they were too strong and beat us comfortably.

Leicester Foxes 3 wins out of 3. Not doing bad for Division 1 Champions.

So if they win this division will they be relegated again??

So in other words you were beaten by the better team on the day, yet you won't admit that.

Wigston Utd 1-1 Monsell WMC

Monsell started the game well, pressing early on and could have scored 2 in the first 10 minutes if it wasn't for some good defensive work by Wigston Utd. Wigston then dominated the next 30 minutes but never really got a decent chance on goal. HT 0-0.
Early in the second half Monsell were awarded a free kick just inside Wigstons half. Lee Hobbs put over a floating ball into the box, dummied by Kev Jones and fell to the feet of Paul Angrave who unselfishly cussioned it across for Nicholas Keeber to nod in.
Monsell then started to play some good football but Wigston defended well. Wigston then hit us on the break, a long ball into the box, Mark Holt miss hit his clearance straight into the path of a Wigston Player 10 yuards out and beat the keeper to make it 1-1.
The last 10 minutes was all Monsell. 3 goal mouth scrambles, one of which was a dissalowed goal but looked clearly over the line. (No goal line technology here). A penalty shout also with Wigston clearly handling the ball from a corner, seen them given but seen them not aswell.
All in all a good result for both teams.
4 points from our first 2 games is an excellent start to life in division 1. Couldn't ask for any more from the Monsell lads.

Good luck to Wigston Utd for the season, I think they could shock a few teams this season.

Thurnby Rangers 11 - 0 The Plough

Got hammered today by a team that i feel will walk Div 7
No keeper and a few missing regulars including me but to be honest i don't think it would have made any difference. Very good side that i feel would do well in Div 4. Kyle Walbrook and a load of young very good players with his brother Reece signing for them next week.

with all due respect Dave, I reffed them a few games back when they beat FCCOL 4-0 and they did not have it their own way at all, had FCCOL taken their chances it could have been a completely different scoreline. They didn't strike me as being in a division or two below their ability that day - ok, could have been a one off and still a good side who will be up there end of the season but didn't strike me as hunters of the pot

Thurmaston 7 - 0 Fosse City

Without doubt one of the poorest Fosse performances I've ever been involved in. We were short on attacking options and had to start the game with a right back and a centre back up front. That doesn't excuse the fact we went through a full 90 minutes without stringing 3 passes together. I can remember us having 1 shot on goal all game, a penalty that was saved which pretty much summed up our morning.

Credit to Thurmaston though who were excellent all over the pitch. Played us off the park from about the 25 minute mark when they got their first goal, we couldn't have complained if they'd hit double figures.

Looking forward to an easier game against Star & Garter next, and also the return against Thurmaston where hopefully we will give them more of a game.

We were looking forward to our game against Birstall Rangers feeling confident that we could go there and get a positive result. They have started the league well with 2 wins out of 2 and scoring lots of goals.

The game started of in a frantic pace and we took the lead early on through Richard Wykes who powered a shot into the top right hand corner from the left hand side of the box. The shot was too hard for their keeper, who despite getting a good hand on the shot, couldn't stop it from nestling into the back of the net.

Birstall responded well and equalised after some soft defending from our part. The game remained open with chances a plenty with Birstall taking the lead to make it 2-1. We kept knocking at the door and got the goal we deserved to make it 2-2 just before half time when Wez Thomas latched onto a through ball and beat both defenders for pace to slot the ball away. Thats 3 in 3 for our veteran striker.

The second half continued in the same way as the first. We missed several chances to take the lead including an open goal that just needed Andy Cheshire to place his on it but somehow missed when it was easier to score!

Birstall took the lead against the run of play through their energetic midfielder and the game stayed that way for the majority of the second half despite continuing to knock at the door but spurning our chances.

Despite this we always felt there was something in this game for us and two of our substitutions played important parts in helping us get the equalising goal.

We changed formations and pushed 4 up front with 10 minutes to go. We piled on the preassure and committed our players forward leaving us open at the back. Inevitably they got a break away and went through on goal with only Gaz Anders left to save us. He kept up with play brilliantly and got a vital interception on the ball to save us from conceding a certain goal.

We continued to press forward and got our reward after some hard work from Adam Rimes on the right hand side resulted in a corner in the dying moments of the game.

The corner was put in and eventually fell to the feet of Rob Harper who tentatively kicked the ball towards the goal where Phill Panayi was on hand to stab it home from close range for the well deserved equaliser and his first goal for the Oak.

In the end a very competitive game with the draw being a fair result for both sides. They will cause trouble for a lot of teams this year.

Looking at the early results, think it is going to be a very competitive division this year. Will be interested to see how Birstall fair against Blaby next week as the early results seem to show them as potential run away leaders.

Trinderbox 0 v 1 Dukla

Having got 4pts from our first two games we turned up in an optimistic mood we could continue our run for another game.
However, first half it was all trinderbox, they had good movement off the ball, passed it well, got forward in numbers but just could not finish any off their good play.

We had a 1-1 against their keeper but our winger went for a chip instead of power and their keeper did well to save. Somehow we went in 1-0 up through a throw-in where their keeper came for the ball didn't get it and our midfielder scored a simple header.

Second half we switched a few things and managed to play a bit better football but didn't create any chances of note. They pushed again and had four good chances to score but this half they couldn't find a way past our keeper who was outstanding, making three 1-1 saves.

Credit to Trinderbox, they were a good young team who will do well this year but they just lacked a little bit of strength in the middle of the park and upfront.

Divison 5 looks very competitive this year which is good to see. We have only played Aberdale and Global apart from Trinderbox and Aberdale were an excellent passing team and Global very similar to us, same of bunch of lads every year who work hard for each other.

Just hope Friar lane haven't signed too many pot hunters to keep it competitive all season Shocked Laughing

Inter mivan 5 - 7 Friar Lane

well not the result we wanted, but in honesty unlucky in my view not to get something from the game.
Equalised with 10 mins left in game, we pushed for the win only to get caught on counter attack.
Good game, played in good spirit. Individual errors cost us again. Thats not taking anything away from Friar lane. Exceptional finishing by their forward, who is far too good for this division.
Apart from their striker, they do not seem like pot hunters, if we had finished our chances like them then we would have taken something out the game.
Their lino flagged offside for 2 of our goals but thankfully the ref was in a good position to over rule him both times and rightly so. Unlike Aberdale lino last week, flagged the ball going out of play 60 yards away, we scored and ref went with lino somehow (i did line same side second half and it was impossible to the line from where he was standing), dont mind losing as long as its fair (in honesty Aberdale deserved win based on football, not sure why to cheat).
Anyway next week Dukla, always a good game with them.
Good luck to Friar lane, will do well this season due to stikers.
