A good game played in the right way by both teams.
We started quite well and were knocking it around nicely, then they caught us on the break and scored with a slightly fortunate finish. It didn't take long for us to get back in the game when the ball fell nicely to Aaron.
Into the second half and they again caught us out with a tidy finish. But we bounced straight back and equalised, we then stepped on the gas a bit and finished the game off with 2 quick goals.
Cheers to the Foxes lads, a good bunch and despite the numerous yellow cards it wasn't that sort of game. Good luck with the rest of your season.

Good game from us, found ourselves 3-0 with 30mins to go, 2 penalties for them (1 very dubious) made it a lot closer. We had plenty of chances and had a 4th disallowed, all in all a hard fought victory for us.

| CSKA Reserves 4 - 7 Suecastle FC
Game of two halves doesn't even come close to describing how this one went. First half we played some good stuff, got it down and played some flowing football. After a first half hatrick from Jack Hirst and goals from Harvey Jones, Ben Hirst and a Zak Woolman penalty, we deservedly had a 6-0 lead at the break.
The second half couldn't have been more different. Credit where credit's due, CSKA improved in the second half but we were simply abysmal. It was as though our lads thought it was a 45 minute game. We found ourselves 6-4 up with a few minutes to go and managed to grab a seventh through Ben Hirst that killed the game and took away the momentum from CSKA.
Well played to CSKA, especially in the second half and good luck for the rest of the season.

| Ditto above. We were woeful first half. Careless in possession, and vulnerable every time they attacked. But thankfully 2nd half showed a bit of spirit to make a game of it. However was always going to be tough after the start we made. | |

Awful...truly awful game won by a piece of individual brilliance and it pains me to say it!!
Kieran came off the bench and with his first 3 touches took it past 2 defenders and then unleashed a shot from 25 yards that flew in the bottom corner.
Important 3pts in the chase for the league title, these are the games you win, when you're rubbish.

Do you think it's done and dusted now? Oh no!! Definitely not. Its just nice to know that they are beatable. With their results over the last few games i had them down as clear favourites.

Do you think it's done and dusted now? We've got a long way to go yet. Away v AC Wigston who we drew 4-4 with first game of the season. Home v bee's knee's who held us to a 2-2 draw at their ground. And then we've got to go to Phoenix. 7 points from 9 will win us the league. So a long way to go yet, but the balls in our court.

Chris Durrance 4 Kenroy Galloway 2 Shane Jackson Jordan Cunningham Kyle Winston
Found our shooting boots again this week in a generally better performance than the last 3 games. Solid debut too for Curtis Matthew and a 1st Pochin goal for Jacko who with a bit more luck could have had 3 or 4.
Got to be happy with our 5th league clean sheet on the bounce too.
Credit and good luck to Caz and the Fairfield lads who showed great spirit, kept battling for the full 90 minutes and also played some good football

| Vale 3 - 2 FCCOL First half we just couldn't get going we made a few good chances which we should of taken but credit to FCCOL unlike the game at there place they took there chance and could of had maybe 1 more just before half time, we made one change at the break and should of really made it 1-1 but it just didn't seem to be our day! After some pressure from FCCOL they grabbed there second after we failed to clear a corner and there striker lobbed our keeper (it was a cross really ) we then managed to grab one back through a bit of luck ( was it a push? ) that goal then gave us the kick up the backside to go on and at that point hopefully get a draw! We did get the second goal shortly afterwards and for us after how we had played would of happily taken the point but after some trickery from our left winger we got a penalty with minutes to go! Our top goal scorer calmly placed it into the bottom left corner and we came away with 3 points... Huge credit to FCCOL though they really worked hard and deserved a lot more from that game and the majority of our squad agreed they were the best side we have came up against this season, come the end of the season I fully expect them to be up there with the rest of us if they can pull out those performances every week, top set of lads! As for us with 4 players leaving and 4 players coming in it really feels like pre season all over again, difference is we haven't got the friendlies to gel so we are having some mixed match performances looking forward to the final few games after a great first season for us all at Vale. | |
