County Competitions - Semi Finals

The semi final draws have been released and are available on the County FA website

The neutral venues have still to be decided.

The games are scheduled for Sunday 5 February with the exception of Reem Team v MDH Knights and Thorpe Astley v LDA Spartans which are scheduled for Sunday 12 February due to free date requests granted.

Are saturday semi-finals at neutral venues aswell?

Thorpe Astley it is then. I gather there are a few of the old Western Athletic players there so it's not going to be easy!

Good luck to all the remaining Alliance Teams (a little less luck to Reem Team though )

Any information in particular that makes you think that?

We don't know much about them to be honest. one week they seem to thrash their opponents, the next they struggle.

Any one no anything about Malborough Western Rovers..........................................?

Disappointed with the draw to be honest as us and star would have made a great final , two teams In great form and a perfect surface to play on. Still looking forward to the game , good draw for sunbury as thurlaston are a poor side so shouldn't see an upset there.

It’s nothing against Sunbury, they are a good bunch of lads and having played them in the final last year (and been spanked by them something rotten to nil in the season as well) I know first-hand what their capable of on their day, and agree they will make the final. But I predict the winner of your game will win final also, should be a good game.

Happy with the draw if I'm honest, thought we were unlucky in the league game to get nothing. Shame it's not the final only because both sets of lads know each other. Looking forward to this one.

Some good ties there. Particually like the Birstall Stamford V Wigston Car Breakers and the Throops V S&G, both would of made great finals!!

Marlborough western Rovers are a very well organised side, they have a strong midfield, quick forwards but are suspect at the back if you get after them,
We lost 4-1 to them with a bare 11 and we were struggling for a side, but don't under any circumstances take them lightly, you definately have the team to beat them if you go in with the right attitude,

And spanked them 12-1 with 10 men !!

Note to secretaries- the wrong booklet has been put on the website- this one doesn't tell you about payment of grounds; refs and match ball procedures for semi finals. We have to be the underdogs (as usual). You stuffed Gate Hangs Well who are one of the favourites for the league. You seem to be thrashing teams every other week in your own division too.

How many of the old Western Athletic players do you have?

Joey seems to think so.
We have 4 or 5 ex western lads but there the mates who were all there from the start of the club and not the superstars that let us down in the end. To be fair when we beat ghw they were understrength. Either way I'm sure it will be a tight affair. Hopefully a Hinckley league win though

Here's hoping. Most of our lads have never been this close to winning anything so it's a bit of a special couple of weeks for us.
