Blaby 1-2 Gobal

Fantastic win for us this morning against a good team.

Not sure if blaby got too complacent before the game as they never really got going until the second half but we really dug in to get all 3 points.

Friar Lane - Wigston Rangers

Game was abandoned after about 60 minutes after a serious injury to one of our players. Just wanted to thank both the referee and the lads at Friar Lane, especially the gent with some medical experience that stayed with us.

LDA 2-2 Oak

Scorers
Joe De Vere Hunt
Jason Oliver

LDA stormed to a 2-0 lead and were able to open us up at will for the first 20mins. A couple of minor tweaks saw us look more steady at the back but we were 2-0 down
Id say we then dominated the next 70 minutes and i dont think LDA would begrudge us a point. At half time we made two substitutions that allowed us to control the game even more. Was good to see Tom Scott coming on at half time in what was his first apprearance of the season. And it didnt take him long to make a contribution, slipping Joe De Vere Hunt through on goal to make it 2-1. This was Joe's first for the Club and first goal in Mens competitive football.
With 5 minutes remaining Jay Oliver manages to find the back of the net and was a huge relief after all the hard work we put into the game. We were even denied a winner by a smart stop from the keeper with very little time remaining.

A good match to watch and very well reffed once again by Mark Connelly.

Good luck to LDA for the season and we look forward to the return.

Blaby and whetstone old boys 1-0 lakeside

In my opinion it's game of div 5. Much talked about blaby they didn't disappoint, very organised group of lads, 2 centre midfielders today ran the show for them also a good winger, I'm going to be biased but I think all Watching the game would have to agree I think a draw would
Of been a fair result. Both teams breaking each other down most do the game. Hard fought battle for both sides id say, was a joy to play in. Proud of the lakeside lads
Today, all put a shift in against a team I believe will win the league. Happy we kept the score to 1-0 as they've been punishing teams but as I stated before I think a draw May have been a fair result. Red wasn't the greatest but both sides got in with it no fuss and was a quality game.

All the best to blaby. See you next time.

Wigston Fields 3-2 Dove Saab

Goal scorers: Mark Allen (p)
Scott Hardy
James Field

After some disastrous performances defensively as a team it was important we started quickly and upped our game. We managed to make it through the first 10 minutes without conceding which was essential and the players were well organised and switched on. Dan McDonald was controlling his box and pulled off a couple of great saves to keep the scores level. Fields made the breakthrough when a long ball forward was flicked on by Joe Dowsing and the Dove Saab defensive split like the parting of the waves as Scott Hardy broke through to slot home on his debut. Fields continued to press and the second soon followed. Joe dowsing again causing trouble in the air, this time fairly challenging the keeper for the loose ball to lobbed home by James field from the edge of the box. Saab were then given a lifeline in the form of a penalty after a shirt pull. Dan McDonald guessed the right way but just couldn't get a strong enough hand on it. Scott Hardy was again causing trouble with his pace latching on to a through ball in the area and was brought down. Up steps Mark Allen to rifle the ball into the top corner: his third penalty in two games. 3-1 fields at the break. Second half tested fields resolve and character and Saab pressed and some feisty challenges by both teams threatened the game to boil over but the referee did well to keep it under control for the most part. Fields defended well but a penalty towards the end of the game made it 3-2 and nervous times. We held out and played much better as a team this morning.

Aths 6 - 1 Ramada

We were terrible for 70 minutes but turned it on in the last 20 to score 4 late goals. First half our keeper really kept us in the game so the scoreline doesn't quite tell the full story.

Should be a tougher test next week against Oadby, looking forward to it.
