As many of you will know with deep regret we were told that this week Mary Markham a league Vice President secretary of Webbys' Wanderers, and long standing committee member, sadly past away at 5.00pm on Tuesday.
Needless to say our thoughts are with Mary's husband Geoff, her sons Neil (Oily) & Shaun (Noose) and the rest of the family at this sad time. Mary had been battling against illness for some time, and was recently diagnosed with leukemia.
Having spoken to both Oily & Noose they have asked if their home game against East Goscote this Sunday can still go ahead, this will be a difficult day for all associated with Webbys but Mary wouldn't want it any other way.
Mary has been involved with Magna Town and Webbys since 1981 and been an incredible servant to local football and the Alliance League, so many players, friends and footballing colleagues have found memories of Mary. Oily, Webbys current manager, would like to welcome as many people as possible that knew Mary to come down to the game (Horsewell Lane, Little Hill Estate, Wigston) and pay tribute to Mary with a minutes silence and a minutes applause before the game tomorrow.
In addition a minutes silence will be observed at all Alliance League games
