Interesting but if the idea to generate more artificial pitches gets off the ground, it will not go to Leicester because £11m has already been spent in the City.

The real problem is that these new pitches are being used at the expense of teams for the young adults and adults which he says are suffering. How many of the new facilities in Leicester are being used by adults?

We trained on the 4g saffron lane pitch paid top dollar every week and
got told it was needed for kids football who pay hardly anything so we no
longer train as no facilities available local and its getting worse.

We have had real problems trying to get good facilities for one hour a week, must have tried 12-15 pitches. most of the slots on a Tue/Wed/Thu between 6-9 are taken by youth football, who are paying a fraction of what we would have to pay to hire the same pitch

The decline in 11v11 mens football will continue, as costs will increase and facilities will get worse.

More and more will play in 5v5, 6v6, 7v7 leagues at Goals, Brockington etc and the FAs stats will look good.

The development in youth football is great for the future but when these 11-14 year olds get to adult football they will be ignored like the rest of us.
