Cup Draws

We all love a good Cup draw, anyone know when our league cup draws are as well as County cup draws ?

I imagine that these games will be played first couple of weeks in October but can't quite remember how long before the fixtures are released.

there was a circular email from county FA today about county cup preliminary rounds being drawn tonight/tomorrow...

There will not be any Alliance participation in County FA Preliminary Rounds. The draw for the first round is scheduled for 19 September - but will probably not be announced for a period of time thereafter

What about our own league cup competitions ?

also do you have any split on what cups each division is likely to be placed both County and Alliance league wise.

Alliance Draw should be imminent

County Placements

Premier - Premier
Intermediate - D1 and D2
Shield - D3 and D4
Trophy - D5 and D6
Vase - D7

League Cups

Walton - Full entry
Moore - Premier and D1
Foster - D2, D3, D4
Stokes - D5. D6, D7

It is, the league are trying a new system this season. Each team will receive a letter the day before the scheduled cup match giving them a postcode, you turn up and find out who you play on the day :-)

Malc - why don't you ask to get moved into the Prem cup - you'd get to play against all teams of a similar ability.

I thought about it tbh, but being as Advance Couriers have now left it will give someone else a chance to win a cup.

Agreed, if they're done then put them on the site

It is important that pitch availability is confirmed before the draw is published. These things take time and James will publish as soon as he can. He always does.

Does that mean the original draw that comes out is not always what will end up as the final fixtures ?

For example, 2 teams that pitch share both drawn at home then one has there game switched ? how do you determine which one to switch ? Some teams like home advantage then others like away games to earn the club some much needed cash ?

Just wondering what steps the league take once an original draw has been taken ? It is quite possible that 2 teams that pitch share both get home ties and should you need to reverse a fixture say to another two teams that have also both been drawn at home, what would you do then ? Get meh ?

We follow the same procedure as County do for County draws, except that we start with the 'more senior' cup and work down in one round and then in reverse direction in the next round to ensue reserve teams have an equal chance of being at home as their first team.

In the unusual circumstance that you quote, the draw keeps being made until a team with an available pitch becomes available. There is a procedure for every eventuality. Take my word for it.

Sure everyone will be pleased to see the first round draws for the Arthur Moore / EW Foster and Stokes cup are on the forum! Each competition has their own forum thread for banter about the ties!
