| Extract from 'Interpretation of the Laws of the Game andGuidelines for Referees' in respect of Law 1
If a player makes unauthorised marks on the field of play with his foot, he must be cautioned for unsporting behaviour. If the referee notices this being done during the match, he must caution the offending player for unsporting behaviour when the ball next goes out of play.

| Surely that means most people that take corners are guilty and worthy of a tenner fine then, i know i often dig a nice spot to rest the ball.THIS RULE IS A JOKE | |

| Next season the FA are introducing a new rule. At free kicks and corners opposing teams are not allowed to put the NRFC goalkeeper under any pressure. His manager and his mum don't like it, and he gets all upset. | |

| only one ref I have ever come across that I would think could be quite this pedantic. Sunday footie and whilst players should be booked for cheating or overly aggressive behaviour, I think marking a line on what is probably a dog walkers paradise in midweek is over the top | |
