I have had confirmation from both Oadby & Wigston and Leicester City councils to say that all their venues are off for this weekend.

Both Councils called their games off on Wednesday and we have been trying to make the point that it was too early. The City Council called their games off early following pressure from at least one other League. Bear in mind that pitches have not been marked out since well before Christmas - maybe more than 4 weeks ago. Man in black also has a good point in that pitches are often used when they are not fit and they are then ruined and unfit for several weeks following.

They are going to get damaged regardless, with the amount of games that need to be crammed in now!

| but you will cramming games in when the pitches are not so soft and will not cut up so much, so less time is needed to repair them between games, i do also take on board the fact that pitches have not been and will not be marked,,however a lot of pitches have dead grass where pitch has been marked anyway for a lot of the time | |

| It's snow joke I'm affraid!!!
No seriously I'm as annoyed as you guys. Makes my time spent changing everything pretty much wasted, but all the arguing and stressing on here won't change the fact that the councils have made a decision and that's final!!
As Dennis said I spoke to both councils and urged them to delay and let referees make individual decisions on pitches, but other people pretty much forced them make an early decision. To be fair there is a hell of a lot of rain forecast over the next 48 hours and with the snow melting it's going to be waterlogging that's going to cause the next problems!!!
At least there seems to be an end to the tunnel on the horizon!!!

Thanks Liaise with Horse. If their pitch is available, then County instructions say yes. I suggest the 2 club secs make contact. Any queries on County games should go to Holmes Park

| Hood Park v EFC should be able to be reversed, no-one else uses our pitch in Desford apart from us. We havent played EFC at home this season either. Fixture Sec, can you call our Secretary Richard Callaghan to sort? | |

| Willows is not City council. As far as I know it's parish.
Hood Park Rangers have a pitch share with an LSL team. If it can be reversed I am happy with this. Richard needs to let me know if this can happen??

Thanks Dennis. How likely is it that teams will be playing on the Sunday after (May 2nd) to complete their fixtures? Certainly the Wednesday/Friday following is probable for some teams, but cannot say more than that at this stage.

That leaves you with a serious problem - you know the rules about causing postponements. Now is the time for all clubs to be increasing squad size to cope with the expected rash of midweek games.

| This is the time I think the league need to realise that this league is labelled SUNDAY MORNING FOOTBALL, now we all expect the odd game to be played midweek but you can't seriously expect clubs to play half their league games midweek because of a backlog as this puts those teams at a severe disadvantage for either being successful in their cup runs or forced postponements by councils/schools And who's gonna sign for a team when the manager says ''by the way we might only need you if we get midweek games at the end of the season, cheers'', and by the time it comes round you can't predict which players will be working away in the week, so is he gotta try and sign cover for his whole team, Personnally feel the league are just passing the buck on this and making no exceptions to the fact we've lost a whole month worth of fixtures, unless all their worried about is the fact they've booked Lutterworth Town for presentation day already and don't want to put it back an extra week Another thing why are clubs forced to play Wed/Fri and Sunday running up to the end of the season, when midweek games could start from mid March I ask this simply because some peoples week could be football Tues/Wed/Thur/Fri/Sat/Sun, that would leave you 1 day to recover, and the chances of causing more injuries at a time of the year when pitches are hard, not to mention the missus gettng p!ss!d off, not that I'm to bothered about that! | |

Yes - you have choice of ground. Amended - I thought you were the home team. If the two teams can find an acceptable pitch, then it would be ok with us.
