Road Closures

Countesthorpe Road in South Wigston is now closed until April!!

Next Sunday, 11th, Bushloe End/Launceston Road/Station Road in Wigston will be closed. The only access to the Horsewell Road Playing Fields will be via Horsewell Road but coming from the traffic lights on Welford Road ONLY.

I doubt there will be games on this weekend!!!

The above closure did not take place because of the weather. It has now been rescheduled for 21st February. Please bear in mind that there are already serious delays in South Wigston.

TEMPORARY ROAD CLOSURE OF:
The B582 Bushloe End / Station Road / Launceston Road junction, Wigston.

Leicestershire County Council has granted the temporary closure of the above road.

The closure is required to allow Leicestershire County Council contractors
to complete highway improvement works.

The road will be closed from 06:00 hrs on Saturday 20th February until 20:00 hrs on Sunday 21st February 2010.

This will enable carriageway planing between 18:30 hrs and 23:00hrs on Saturday 20th February and carriageway resurfacing / lining / anti skid works between 7:00 hrs and 17:00 hrs on Sunday 21st February.

During the closure the alternative route available for affected B582 traffic will be via:-

B582 Station Road, Blaby Road. B5366 Saffron Road, Saffron Lane. A563 Attlee Way, Asquith Way. A5199 Welford Road, Leicester Road, Bull Head Street. B582 Moat Street, Bushloe End and vice versa.

Diverted estate road traffic should use Launceston Road and Horsewell Lane and vice versa.

Highway works on the B582 Countesthorpe Road/ Saffron Road junction will be suspended during these times to reduce conflicts and delays for diverted traffic.
