They sound like the folk that live out Countesthorpe way, they all get confused when its time to celebrate fathers day.

| I heard someone from a div 5 club the other week saying it was a joke that Trinderbox were in division 5, but I can't understand the argument. Just 2 seasons ago they were struggling in the bottom three of that league, so fair play to them they have gone out and (significantly) strengthened in the summer. Where is the problem in that? Don't understand the bitterness sometimes, not like they're a new team is it? | |

Completely disagree. Why should we have to accept that they have a bunch of pot-hunters, just because the last set of lads were a good, honest bunch? In fact, i bet the last set of lads are pretty pissed of that they've been booted out. They are a not the same team to what they were a year ago so i do not see why we should treat them as so. They didn't improve on their team, they replaced it with players far too good for the division over a period of 6 months, and they all know it. Komrska have shown that you do not have to sign superstars in order to compete, as have a few other teams over the years. It's a shame because without Trinderbox, the league is quite competitive with several teams good enough to challenge for the title. When a team is expecting a certain amount of new players before a season starts, i think they should have to declare it to the league, just as new teams do.

| I can see both sides of the argument on this one, but if a team signs a new set of players, (whether at the right level or not) then fair play to them. | |

| Looking for a division 5 team Ben? For what it's worth - give it to Trinderbox. Might as well get them out of the way as they will win one eventually. | |

When a team is expecting a certain amount of new players before a season starts, i think they should have to declare it to the league, just as new teams do. why on earth should an established club declare it has new players? that's ridiculous. what is wrong with snapping up new players to improve your team? if you were running their side would you do it? of course you would. Let's not knock them now, let's see if they are still around if they get put up to div 3 next season (just a thought) and then two or one the season after.

| This isn't a side that's just picked up a few new players and doing well. This is a side that's beat a Division 1 side 7-0 and is averaging a silly amount of goals per week in the league. It's not in the spirit of competition, let them have the league - but to give them Team of the Month would be an absolute p***-take. | |

why? they've earned it - spent a couple of years in the doldrums. and with all due respect to Accies they probably are not playing like a div 1 side right now

So if someone takes the time and trouble to sign quality players they should be penalised or isolated just because other clubs haven't? It's any clubs prerogative to sign whoever they like. Good luck to all clubs who successfully manage this.

Good luck to all clubs who successfully manage this. This isn't about the Managers, it's about the players. We can't stop them from joining lower league clubs and pot hunting, but we don't have to massage their ego's by giving them Team of the Month awards that they don't deserve.

| Its common knowledge that some teams have players way below their standards, Willows, Fosse City, Sporting Wigston and Trinderbox being prime examples, but they fall into 2 categories. 1 - playing with their mates for a laugh. 2 - pothunting. In the case of Trinderbox, a couple of their players from last season had links to senior league teams with their mates in them and drafted them all in. Some of the original lads have been put to one side whilst the good players that were there last season has stayed on with the senior league lads. Whilst its a credit to Trinderbox to get players in of this calibre, it will be interesting to see how long they last in a higher division when the going gets tough. Its unfortunate for the rest of Division 5 because its very unfair but hey it happens every year. Willows, Fosse and Sporting have players formerly from Division 1/prem but as you can see on here they are just in it for a laugh! | |
