Sparta Moshdock 1-2 Magna 73 Rangers

Despite the conditions this was a good game between 2 good teams fighting with Parva for the div 1 title.

Moshdock went 1-0 up after a free kick went through a crowd of players unsighting our keeper. Aaron Preston had a couple of good chances to put us to bed at 1-0 but one was well saved and the other went wide.

Ryan Ogden was then fouled in the box for a penalty which without bomber who was in yarmouth and Ryan off the field for treatment, meant that Pete Quinn stepped up and slotted it home

the second half was even put Pete Quinn's curling finish about 20 yards out with 20 mins to go proved the decisive goal.

8 wins from 8 and still going strong but Moshdock are not out of it yet and Parva keep winning.

West End Utd Reserves 2 - 4 Trinderbox

Dave Ash
Ben Cooper

Our seven game winning streak came to an end today. We matched Trinder for 60 minutes and were 2-0 up with half hour to go but they were the fitter bunch of lads....

But.... they are beatable, if you go into a game against them thinkin your gonna get turned over you will. All it takes is a bit of self belief and 5 across midfield and they can be contained.

willows 3
western athletic 5

HT 3-2

Great game today with two good sides giving it a real go. willows went 2-0 up in the first 15 minutes 1st through stu verral with a clever finish from just inside the box leaving our keeper no chance then the second shortly after via a headed goal from a corner. then with us playing some good football scored 2 quickfire goals to draw level through tim glenn and matt garner. Then with the last attack of the first half we gave the ball away cheap in the middle of the park and stu verral nipped in between our 2 sliding centre halfs to go clear through and make it 3-2 to willows at half time.

second half started much the same as the first with both teams having chances and playing some good stuff. then matt garner broke into the willows box only to be caught by a clumsy challenge to award us with a penlty which matt calmly slotted into the bottom corener of the goal to make it 3-3. after that we really got our tails up and opened willows up numerous times and eventually the breakthrough came through tim glenn with a cool finish from 12 yards out. willows however didnt give up and created a few half chances but due to commiting so many players forward were always vunerable to the counter attack which came and let timm glenn in to complete his hat-trick and seal a cracking result for the wallys.

thanks to the willows lads for a great end to end game and all the best for the seaon.

find that a bit hard to beleive as we have played afc about 6 times now and i would never put them down as a side that use intimidation or violence. always found them a good bunch who enjoy a good bit of banter but nothing more!

some people dont know when to shut up. mouthiest side we have ever played against by a mile, from the first minute. some of the stuff that provoked us wasnt very clever to be honest so im not surprised a few of your lads took whacks. 99.9% of the time i wouldnt defend some of the tackles that went in, but today i understand why they did.

you will get a warm welcome in the return fixture cheers

honest mate, even i got booked. and that says it all!
to go up to our lino and give him the one arm salute and call him a cheeting c**t after their 2nd wasnt very pleasing.
and our lino only flagged once all game!! it was only after that things got a bit physical.

think we're gonna get relegated at this rate mind you. performance from us today wasnt good enough.
last week we actually played quite well and ended up losing 5-0 to foxes. they are a very good side tho.

oh well, countesthorpe next week. should be easy hey Very Happy

Stu Iddisah

Bare 11 today, which has been the first time we've ever had no subs so bit of a dissapointment especially as we picked up a couple of knocks.

Not sure where it all went wrong really, couple of silly mistakes cost us 2 goals and we didnt finish our chances.

On to next week!!

Wigston United 5 Premier Sports 7

Wigston took the lead after 2 minutes and then scored again 4 minutes later, only to be disallowed by the linesman for offside.Further attacks took place and several one on ones resulted in him flagging again and again for offside. This had a demoralising effect on the Wigston players and caused the referee Mark Lever to totally ignore him for much of the rest of the game. However the damage was already done and at half time it was a 7-2 advantage to Premier Sports.
In a totallly different second half it was Wigston who dominated it,and they had numerous chances to level the game, but only managed to score 3 more goals to end in a final result of 5-7.
No gripes about the Premier lads only the linesman.Other teams be aware.

Yeah we did well today Dan, only had 9 at 9am and was very makeshift side with 4 new players 2 just signed and played to help us out. They had a few chances 2nd half but we defended well as a unit.

Bees Knees 2 v 1 Sunbury

We were awful today from start to finish and the only other time we played so bad we also lost. Fair play to the home side, there league placing before the game didn't reflect that on the pitch.

The pitch wasn't great however it was more than playable and they'll be games on far worse pitches as the season goes by.

Terratruck 2 Polska 2.

Terratruck 2-0 up with 16 minutes to go and should have buried it with the chances they had, but Polska came back, and veteran skipper Tom Lane struck a 35 yard thunderbolt in the 93rd minute to level the game.

Horse 3-4 Frolesworth Utd (At Frolesworth)

Last minute switch of pitches due to ours being unavailable. Scrappy game between the basement sides in Div 1. We went 3-0 down very easily and our heads dropped AGAIN. Got it back to 3-2 with about half an hour left giving us some hope but all that went when FUFC scored again.

Frolesworth were the better side on the day and deserved the win.

I am seriously considering whether or not my future lies with Horse Football Club.

Very philosophical, but very true.
