PostSubject: Results and Banter - Friday 17 May and Sunday 19 May   Results and Banter - Friday 17 May and Sunday 19 May Icon_minitimeFri 17 May 2013, 12:38 pm

With the exception of a single game scheduled for Wednesday 22 May, this is the final batch of fixtures.

Two games tonight including the Bill Walton Cup Final and a number of League fixtures on Sunday.

Still a few issues to resolve - Monsell WMC need a point to secure the D5 title and overtake LDA Spartans. In D6 Aylestone Athletic need a point to reach the runners up position, whilst in D7 a point for CFA will be enough for runners up, but a win for their opponents CSKA Sporting will see them leapfrog CFA into second place. In addition Fairfield Dynamo have two attempts to make certain of the D2 runners up spot

An intriguing final Sunday of the season which should draw a good number of onlookers.

Iv'e heard that Vanessa is going to give Beef Jerky to everyone in niffy, if they win that is, she's asked that everyone should have a really good thorough shower after the game, if they win.

CFA 1 CSKA Sporting 1, but this game was abandoned after 79 minutes due to a serious injury. Our best wishes to the CSKA Sporting player involved - I do not know the nature or extent of the injury.

As the game has a direct bearing on runners up position in D7, it will have to be rescheduled - a date will be agreed and announced later

Congratulations to Monsell. Hopefully we'll be in the same division next season, easy 6 points.

In all seriousness, if you score that many you'll always be in with a chance. Well played. Just try to be a little more discrete when trying to snatch our players!

After discussions with both clubs, it has been agreed that the 1-1 score should stand as the result. The point gained confirms CFA as runners up in Division 7.

We are all aware that a win for CSKA Sporting would have placed them second and moved CFA down to third.

Needless to say, we asked for and have obtained confirmation in writing from CSKA Sporting of their decision.

I must acknowledge this very generous and gracious gesture of CSKA Sporting to bring the D7 season to a conclusion.

My understanding is that the injured player has sustained rib damage - both broken and bruised. We wish him a speedy and complete recovery.

To put all the speculation To bed I'm Aylestone athletics manager so those who think
The Special one is then your wrong ..!!

Game against oak was a must win for us and think that showed in our approach to the game matching oak and surpassing them for large chunks of the game weather oak lost little fight as already champs who knows but fielded a good strong team and I'm sure they didn't wanna end season without another win but was a good fair game played in right spirit some good finishing on both sides mainly peno's with our keeper scoring our first ..!!

this seasons been great for us to finish second was a great achievement
And hard work some weeks with bare 11 I'm sure others agree its nightmare Sunday morning sometimes all teams we played against have been 9/10s times spot on with decent banter and lads , tho some have been a little cheeky and coming on here week in week out giving it billy big balls and for some reason slating us like we're a bunch of thugs etc maybe it's because we very rarely rise to it trying to get response who no worries what the key board warriors on here think at times / all I can say is I've enjoyed this season and feel our lads worked hard and have 100% every game and I hope to continue this next year to /

The league has been spot in with div 6 this year with competitiveness wish all teams the best

We how ever haven't done bad for a team most was predicting to come know where the top as forecasts from start of season :-)

It doesn't look very competitive when you look at the table, it looks more like a white wash, but interesting to hear that from someone who is sitting second in that table.

Big shout out to Mr Chris Haines who sadly played his last game yesterday. Been playing in the alliance league for 35 years and has been a privilege to have him playing for us for the last 6 or 7 years. He ended his playing days scoring a cracking penalty into the top corner giving the keeper no chance. All these years he's played for us hes never told me he can bury a penalty like that!

Hat & Beaver can put in a performance on their day. They have been let down by a number of players and only had 10 again on Sunday, yet still fought to the end. If they had a manager on the sidelines to help organise them they could have got more results. There is talk of them finishing next years which would be a shame.

thanks. you gave us a very good run for our money, if it wasn't to be us then you would fully deserve it aswell after doing the double in the league over us. Really enjoyed the season, thought there was a massive difference between the top 6 and the bottom 5 that made us both look like pothunters, but the final third of the season proved otherwise in my opinion.

As for poaching players, i'm flattered that a member of your club would brag about being approached by our small club but I can assure you that none of the club management would have been involved in that.

Good luck for next season, hopefully be in the same division, you owe us 6 points!
