Probably not - the dropping down was a County FA decision where they have a rule which precludes more than 1 team from a club being in a competition. The basis of entry by divisional membership into Alliance Cup competitions is provided for in our Rules. A similar issue exists with CSKA Carnabys and Kingsway wth the first team in D5 and the Reserves in D7 which places both teams in the Stokes Cup.

| Gordon, we actually had this chat about CSKA and our ressies down the pub yesterday after training. Will it be possible for us to face each other in the first round or will we be kept apart unless necessary?
Cheers | |

Absolutely correct - save the meeting for the Final? when we were in the LSL with our reserves, they were in the division below us, and therefore we were in the same cup competition. we were convinced the league kept us apart because they didn't want one of the games as a 1st v 2nd team. But we both kept defying the odds until we met in the final at Holmes Park!

Wouldn't say that mate, if you get the luck of the draw early on then in a one off match anybody can beat anybody, we proved that against Advance!! Lost the 2 since which proves my point.

| i suppose if you get drawn against a few div 4 sides in the early rounds (if you are also a div 4 side) then you have a good chance of at least quarter final / semi final spot. especially if other draws pitch div 2 v div 2 and div 3 v div 3. then some of the bigger guns would be knocked out early | |
